Okay, ladies. I just ordered the ATG-714 and a roll of the 908 adhesive. I haven't had the chance to test drive it, I'm just going from all the threads I've been reading about it. So if I hate it...there's going to be a lot of you receiving not so nice PM's from me. ;)
I couldn't decide what kind of tape to get, so I just started off with the acid free stuff since I'll be using it for scrapbooking too. Do any of you have a preference??
I'll let y'all know how it goes when I get it. I can't believe I just spent that much money on a tape dispenser. My DH is going to make so much fun of me!!
I resisted for a long time too. But I love it. I hated running out of tape so quickly and having things fall apart. No more. Let your DH laugh. Sooner or later he'll do something that requires you to return the favor.
Congratulations on your purchase. I bought mine with my birthday money. My DH encouraged me after I used up yet another snail adhesive and was going to have to place another order for some more refills (we live in the country so I can't just run to the store and get more). He is the one that sat down and did the cost comparison and figured that I would be saving money in the long run with the ATG. I love using my ATG, I did have to get use to holding something so big for taping, but it is great. Have fun with yours when you get it.
Sil is buying me one for watching her daughter. I guess I work for Adhesives noW!!!! LOL. Does anyone have a great place to buy it from? Also is the one that holds on the 1/4" the best? I do a lot of cards and thought that 1/2 might be too wide. What do you think?
I love my ATG - it has saved me a fortune on adhesive runners. I have the half inch and find it fine for cardmaking. With practice you can get quite a little amount out - also I find if you go over the edge, it is quite easy to gently remove as long as you do it right away.
To the OP - welcome to the wonderful world of ATGs!
Scotch is having quite a problem with the atg guns..(and I think the tape) usually I would say framingsupplies..but they carry scotch and it may be another month or so before they work out the kinks...so I would say thetapedepot for tape and the gun..not sure about the gun, it does look a bit different, but I'm sure does the same thing and cheaper too!!! you will love it once you have one.
I LOVE my ATG, i got mine at the Grapevine show. I ordered the adapter so i can use 1/4 inch tape. I still have some of the 1/2 inch so when i use it up i will put my adapter on.
Congrats! I love mine! It did take me a little bit of practice to get used to using it. But, I have no regrets!
I just bought some tape from The Tape Depot, 12 rolls for $16, a really good price. I have not used it yet because I still have some of my old tape, but others seem to really like it!
WOW! I ordered it Monday (from Crop and Stick) and just got it delivered today (Thurs)! I am heading to my sisters house this weekend for some stamping and scrappin and figured I'd leave before I got it. Now I get to show her my new toy and practice with it. Woo Hoo
I read all of the raves on it here too. Finally I took the plunge and bought one...and use it all the time. I love it. Even bought something like an additional 12-18 refills!!! Don't want to run out!!!

After using my ATG-714 all weekend here's my official review:
I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's not too big or bulky to use. The tape is super sticky and none of my cards were falling apart. It was just awesome! I am so glad I bought it. Now I'm off to order some more tape before my scrapbooking retreat next month.
The only downside is that we were trying to tape on the arms of my 2yo nephew and we were having problems getting it to stick. LOL!
