how do you store your ink pads? i have SU pads and I know I could buy the storage thing in the catty but I don't know that I like it enough to spend $80 (CDN) on it. So, I'd love to hear what others do!
I have it...and hate it! I know some love it but it just doesn't suit me. It feels flimsy, especially considering what I paid for it! There are lots of other ideas out there. Some use cassette holders and those look like they work...and are much cheaper. Now, I have to go to bed because I am sounding awful crabby! If you decide to go with this system, feel free to pm me because I am looking to move it out of my space...I'll give you a good deal!
Perhaps I'm in the minority, but I like the SU caddy... I tried various containers to stack the pads but they were always flopping around... I also kept looking online for some other solution (the wooden ones, for example) but they are just as (or more) pricey than the SU one... I also thought the turning kind would be better for me as I do not have room for a wooden one that's "straight across"... I for one, love the individual slots on the SU one (at first it took some getting used to though)... I have carried the caddy around (and have taken it places) and my ink pads have never fallen out... Mine turns ok without a turntable, but it could be smoother if I put one underneath... I thought "what the heck, I'll give it a try" and I'm glad I did (so far)... I'll need an extender soon though... I wasn't sure how this worked, but I guess it just makes it taller... Just thought I'd share my opinion with you... there's a zillion ways to store ink... it's just up to your preference and storage space... Good luck in your quest
I'm one of the cassette tape holder/ink pad storage people. It's cheap, it works beautifully for most brands and types of ink pads, including SU. The ones it doesn't work for are the Colorbox Chalk pads (lid is too tall). I got mine from Kingdom.com ($20 + $6 s/h) - fast and friendly service. It has 100 slots. I'll order another one from them when this one's filled, which probably won't be long!
I just found this vhs holder at a garage sale. It only cost me $2.00 and I think it's perfect! I would never spend the big bucks for storage because I'd rather save the $ for the fun stuff!;) Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

Here's a thread where we recently gave someone else suggestions. If you go down a ways, you'll see what I use - it's a Case Logics CD case. I paid $1 for it at a yard sale  AND it's great for taking to and from crops
I got mine a few weeks ago. She ships really fast, packs it good. I just was disappointed in that the screws on the top and bottom show, (no screw plugs) and I had to do sanding (rough slots, etc.) before I could paint it. It is made very well otherwise.
I love my SU caddy! It's smaller than the wood caddys, which, to me, are just huge! I have it with the extender and it's full. (I wonder if you can put on a second extender -- will have to ask.)
I have had occasional trouble with turning it, but usually find it's because the handle at the top is loose, so I just tighten it back up and Voila!
