For those of you with the ATG gun. Which gun did you get the 700 or the 714 and what tape is better? I am going to bite the bullet and order one. I've read you all talk about them so much, so which is the best? Does anyone know when you order from framingsupplies.com how long it takes to get something in? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You know, I have the 714 and it is not one pinch smaller than the 700 is! I guess it just has the adapter inside to only take the smaller rolls. I would be tempted to get the 700 and have the option to do the 1/4" rolls (by buying an adapter) because that's what mine seems like now.
But, I am doing fine with only the 1/4" adhesive and if I want wider I just roll another strip of it. The 1/2" won't fit on small layers or ribbon or punched circles well, IMO.
My MIL and I just ordered the 714 with the 924 refills. I don't know when we are supposed to get it, but from everything I read on here, that seemed to be the one that would best meet our needs. We don't scrapbook (I am starting to, but I can always get the 908 later), we mainly make cards and other 3D projects, so we went with the 924. We too, thought it would be good to get the 714, and if we wanted a wider strip, we could just do another strip, if that makes sense. Anyway, that is what we did. HTH

I just ordered a knock off gun from www.justtape.com and it arrived today. WOW! I love it! It's a pretty Taken with Teal color. The gun was $27.68 (JVCC ATG1). It works for both the 3/4", 1/2", and 1/4" tape with no adapter necessary.
The tape that I ordered is called Scapa TOO2 and is the same as 3M #924. The 3M tape will fit their ATG gun too but the Scapa is so much cheaper PLUS it's acid free!
I paid $2.03 a roll for the 1/2" x 36 yds. and $1.89 a roll for the 1/4" x 36 yds. I'm VERY impressed with the tape quality and it was SO much cheaper than the framing supply place. They wanted $3.17 for the 1/2" and $2.35 for the 1/4" roll.
It arrived in 5 business days so the shipping was GREAT! Came UPS. Shipping from New Jersey to Oklahoma was $8.96 and I felt that was a very reasonable price for shipping.
I just thought I would throw out a cheaper source for the tape and the gun and I can honestly say that I would do business with them again!
I love how light-weight the gun is!!! I can't wait to play with it!!!!

I looked this up and the description says that it is for the 1/2" and 3/4". Were you able to use the 1/4" tape that you bought with this?
Yes, I was able to use the 1/4" without any type of adaptor. If you go to the 1/4" tape, it says that it can be used with this gun, but when you look at the gun, it only says 1/2" and 3/4". I loaded the 1/4" and it worked great!
I have the 714 and love it! When I ordered it was on back order, but I still go the order in 2 weeks. It only took two or three days to get here after they shipped it out!

I'm thinking about getting another gun just to be lazy so I don't have to take the adaptor out of my ATG700 when I want to switch from 1/4" to 1/2" . how much was shipping on this gun, and can it fit the 60yd. rolls too?

OK Connie you did it, I just ordered one! Thanks for the tip on the 1/4 inch tape beause I got both! I can see where there is so much cheaper than buying the double sided tape in the roll at target!
Did you get the 1/4 scapa brand tape at the same place? I can't seem to find it on their website... or did you use the JVCC ATG-7502 product for 1/4 in tape? I don't have one of these guns yet... are all of the tape brands interchangeable??? Prices look reasonable.
