I'm thinking about buying some very delicate Cheery Lynn dies, but I am wondering what people use to glue down those tiny threads of paper. One site mentioned Ranger Glue 'n Seal, but it seems to be a paste that needs to be brushed on, and I'm concerned about curling paper and having stickiness where I don't want it. Thoughts, anyone?
When I die-cut smaller letters or other intricate pieces, I first put my paper on a multipurpose adhesive sheet and then die-cut. That way the adhesive is all over the back of the die-cut. I just peel off the backing, stick it down and it doesn't make a mess.
I 3rd the Xyron. I cut my c/s to the size I need, run it throughout the Xyron then run it throughout with the die. I very carefully remove the backing and the cut image is ready to stick in place. I have several Memory Box dies that cut very thin branches, etc. This has worked for me. I am going to try the spray adhesive on some snowflakes it have cut but didn't have my Xyron handy.
When I run something with small openings through the xyron, I always have problems with the sticky parts coming through on the openings. I don't know if this makes sense but there is always glue where it shouldn't be. Wondering if anyone else has this happen?
I think someone else already mentioned this, but I run the card stock through first and then I cut it and peel off the backing. It helps - no more "glue snot"!
Forgot to mention: I'm talking about the glue on the xyron pieces ending up where you don't want it.

Reason: oops
Yes, I have problems with that too. I notice it most when I am using small letters or numbers!
If you are using the x or another xyron with the plastic peel off top, just crumble it up and pat at the tiny areas. The glue will stick to the plastic easily. Don't forget to rub before peeling!

Glue snot is EXACTLY what I am talking about!!! Thanks I will try running the cs through first....

I have that problem with my Xyron 510, but not with my X.
The difference, I think, is that little sheet of paper on top of the X. Rubbing that top paper, gets all the glue from the openings in the embellishment.

I trace around the die cut with a ball point pen through the top plastic sheet and that ensures that the glue is stuck to the top sheet and eliminates all the glue boogers.
Quickie Glue Pen here, too. I've used it for my small Sizzlets letters in my scrapbooks for years and it works well. I have a Xyron, but for me it ends up being a lot more expensive.

Also, if you run your paper through the Xyron BEFORE diecutting, you'll prevent those issues in the first place. I notice this problem more when I use the Xyron 'X' than if I use a larger Xyron. I don't know why that is.
