Just a quick update. We were able to connect the printer to the wireless network. Now I have full print options without being connected via USB (using my laptop). I'll still have to use AirPrint if I'm using my iPad or phone to print.

The other weird thing was I previously using AirPrint to print; the AirPrint drivers are different than when using a USB cable directly to the printer. The USB connection gives me more options in the print menu. If I want to use heavy cardstock I need to use the USB; go figure. I hope this may help someone else trying to figure out their printer and foiling.

Anyway, I am very happy now with the quality of the prints for foiling as well as printing in color for inside card sayings, digi images and who knows what else I can create! Wahoo!

(FYI... I'm using an Okidata MC362W. It's an expensive printer but I was able to price match at Staples so I got a good deal.)

I have a question about foiling with adhesive. Has anyone noticed that if you use an adhesive, i.e., double-sided tape, sticky tape or a tape runner, that when you run your finger across the surface, the foil comes off? I hadn't tried this yet, but today I did and was so disappointed. I lay down the adhesive, place the foil on top burnish with my fingers (I used a bone folder, but it actually was too heavy as it started taking the foil off) and then lift up the foil. If I rub my finger over it, the foil starts coming off and the glue peaks through and the surface becomes sticky. Is this normal? I use Deco foil. Thank you.

The sticky powder did not work for me either and I tried several times.
