Just got my Kai scissors yesterday. Let me tell you, IMO, everyone should have a pair. I cut up three sets of stamps and it felt like I was slicing through soft butter!
They are fabulous!
For those who don't know Kai scissors are the Rubber cutting scissors that SU offers in their catalog. I ordered directly from Kai scissors and got my pair for $18.00 and the shipping was free. So I could justify the cost.
I have been using the rubber cutting scissors I got at the $1 store. Yeah they are okay but after using the Kai scissors there is no going back!!!!!!!!!
Did you get the 6 inch ones like SU sells, or the longer 7.5 inch ones? I'm trying to decide if the longer blade would be better...
Thanks for your opinion on these. They are available on ebay for $11.95 with like $1.81 for shipping. The longer blade ones are $16.95 with the same shipping cost. I'm using dollar store scissors, too, and they just aren't cutting it! ;)
I own these scissors also and they are the absolute best for cutting rubber stamps. I had gone through a couple of pair of dollar store scissors and I finally broke down and bought them. Can't figure out why I didn't get them before.
I bought my rubber stamp mounting scissors from SU and I love them, too! I had used my regular craft scissors for a while, and mounted a lot of stamps all at once a long time ago. It did some sort of nerve damage to my finger and it stayed numb for weeks! Not good since I am a piano teacher! I ordered the SU scissors and couldn't believe the difference. They are also good for cutting paper when you need a small and controlled cut.
I love mine too - before, with regular old paper cutting scissors, my rubber wasn't trimmed close enough and my stamps had all those lines around them - not any more. Well worth whatever the cost is, from SU or Kai, or ebay. Just get em!!
