CB dies *do* cut through Chipboard.. but they are more the size of the sizzlets than "wafer thin".. esp when you consider to use CB dies you use the "B" plate on top, and with QK you use the "C" plate.. CB dies foam is thicker, this means the cutting "edge" is deeper, which means it can cut through chipboard.. QK depth isn't thick enough to do Chipboard.. it will make an impression, enough to follow with a craft knife, but really - who wants to do that?
I would imagine that the sizzlet dies might cut chipboard in the CB.. haven't tested it though.
I am wondering the same thing. Anyone have any ideas?
I am so very excited that i finally have something to contribute here. Regarding the Fiskars texture plates and CB, i finally figured it out. I did not have the patience to wait to receive an order for the wizard pads, so after all week, this is what i finally found works for me.
Plate A, Texture plate, cardstock spritzed with water, 2 layers of fun foam (bought at Walmart for .33 a sheet), chipboard (I used the back of a notepad) and top with plate C. I did crank it through a few times, but i was rather impressed the image, not as deep of course of the CB folders, but still pretty good.
Hope this helps, have fun. I sure have been all week, Carla
Thank you so much for doing this. How generous of you to share your hard work. I don't have anything but the CB products but who knows what bargains might be lurking out there...!
I do have a question. When using the dies, I notice a great difference in how easily cs goes through the machine - lightweight cs, no problem, heavier cs, I hear cracking sounds and sometimes adjust the "sandwich" and start over. I see the formula is the same for chipboard, metals, etc. as for cs. Has any one had difficulty due to the thickness? I don't want to crack or break that plate.
I don't know what these are>>>>tan Wizard pad, black or tan Wizard pad. I have the Fiskers embossing plates and would love to use them, but the tan Wizard pad has me stumped!!!
Thanks
Kate
Thanks for all the information! I love my bug and all the things it can do! I can't wait to try chipboard, but I am afraid because I hear sounds with just SU! cardstock.
Thanks ladies for all your feedback. I'm out of town, but when I get home on Monday, I'll update and repost the chart with the new info from the last few posts.

I don't know what the wizard pads are either. Here's a link to a post I made about using the Fiskar texture plates in my CB. Forums at Splitcoaststampers
Cat, thanks so much! This will probably save the life of my bug! I just started playing with mine this afternoon. I ran two alphabet plates through metal side up (did not read the instructions that said foam side up. It sort of wraped them. They seem to get better after I pass them through the right way a few times.
The cracking noise the plates make sometimes is so scary! I just cringe, fearing they will come out the other side in many pieces! Jumping Jehosphat!

Thanks, I'll give that a try. I guess the wizard pads will remain a mystery.........
I love you guys! I am soooo glad that there are those with the brains, ingenuity and kindness that they share with those of us who haven't figured it out yet! Y'all rock!
Cat, Thank you so much for taking the time to put this together. I just got the Cuttlebug for Christmas but have lots of Sizzix templates, etc. I appreciate having your chart to look at as I felt totally overwhelmed trying to go through the threads.
PS....if you don't mind sharing....where do you live in Central Florida? I live in Apopka and work in the Disney area.
I used the combination recommended for using your brass stencils (with a thin Walmart mouse pad) and ended up cracking my "B" plate in half so now am a bit scared to try them again. Any ideas?? I'd love to be able to use the brass stencils in my CB.

I just got this message when I opened up this thread from my e-mail subscription. Does any one know what's this is all about? I just ignored it and clicked cancel but I'm sure this isn't supposed to happen.

This has been happening to me as well and I just didn't think to hit the cancel button until now. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the smiles; it happened once before in the merged CB thread. I'll hit the bad post to alert the mods.

Thanks - good idea. I'm curious to see what the answer is. Hopefully it is just something harmless.
oh great! I WANT to try, I NEED to try- but I'm stuck at work. got the CB yesterday with a coupon, and was going back today for Olivia with my daughter's coupon (I fed her cat!!)
Since so many people got a Bug for Christmas, I'm bumping this so everyone that needs it, can print it off!! I'm sure tons of scs's didn't see this. Enjoy your new Bug everyone!! Karen.
Thank you, Cat, for this awesome chart! I printed it out and laminated it!!! I'm wondering about something, though, the Revolution dies only need 1 "C" plate, not 2. I found that they work just like you have them under "QuicKutz regular and grande". I just didn't want someone to think that they had to run out and buy another "C" plate!
You're awesome to do write that up, and keep it updated with new information! Thanks again!

Hey Ked - I think it might have to do with different machines... see this post. AND, I made a mistake! (shhh-don't tell). I'll fix the chart!
Want to know something funny - I WROTE that post!!! I was at Mimi's house playing with our new "toys", and had to post it, but forgot to switch usernames!!!
And don't worry, I won't tell!!!
its plumbers gasket material, found at the local hardware store in the plumbing repair section. The label on the package said
Danco (brand) Gasket Rubber 6 in x 6 in, 1/16" thickness. The package came with 2 of them. I dont think the brand would matter any.
