cricut emergency!

My cricut isn't feeding the mat properly. the rollers turn, but the gripper things aren't grabbing it. I am assuming that they were rubbery at some point, but they feel more plastic now, hard and not "grabby." has anyone else had this problem? any solutions? I have a ton of stuff to do for my first craft show on Nov 1. Help!

Sorry, never had that happen before.

Do you re-stick your mats? One time I got a little bit of adhesive outside the cutting area and the rollers wouldn't grab the mat. The mat kept making a funny noise as the wheels were turning.

Did you go to Cricut's website and check the message boards or support area?

I have the same problem, I find that if I push gently on the mat, this enables the rollers to grab the Mat.

I hope this helps.

If you find a answer as to why our machines do this please can you let me know?

mine does that too. I've found that if I turn the mat around and feed it from the opposite side, it'll work. I think my mat is just getting old and it won't catch because I kept feeding the mat/paper through from the same side all the time at first. I'll probably get a new mat soon and try to remember to rotate the ends so they will wear evenly.

jenndspencer.....Before you push the Load Paper key, be certain to gently push the sticky mat into the machine just till you feel the resistence of the rollers. You are not pushing it under the rollers, just to the front of them.

Even if you always load the mat in the same direction, that would have no effect on the rollers grabbing it. The rollers would still grab the mat.

I find that if I hold the mat in the center and 'butt' it against the rollers, they grab the mat better after I press the Load button. This worked for me after I had problems with the mat feeding unevenly - the mat would 'wander' to one side or the other.
