Default Copics

What is the best place to buy Copic's from? Best price etc... I will probably buy the 72 set in August. What colors do you recommend to get first?

Thanks for all the help.

I would keep an eye out for http://www.dickblick.com/ to have their 20% off sale ~ I paid about $240 for the set of 72 & free FedEx shipping (got my set in 2 days). But you have to check the site everyday, cause it's a 'rare' sale ~ but so far there hasn't been one in July, so I'm hoping to see it sometime in August ~ so I can get another set... Can you say ADDICTION... ;)

I buy mine from http://www.carpediemstore.com/listCa...?idCategory=22

They have the best prices that I've found.

Default EBAY

I would look on EBAY, if you watch the items you can probably get them cheaper

Which set of 72 would be the best to start out with?

Same here... but if you know anybody who lives in or travels to Japan, that's the best place to buy

I bought mine from The Merri Artist, they have great shipping, and the prices were good (I live in Canada and the prices in the US were half of what I would pay up here).

I would say set A ( I have sets A & B and am very pleased with the color selection ~ with the only exception to the amount of grays ~ a bit too many for my needs ~ I am not getting set C for that reason). There was one lady who also ordered when I 'enabled' during the last 20% sale and she ordered them individually and only paid a bit more per marker. I keep watching Marianne's blog I Like Markers for more helpful tips (love the how to use the blender info). And I am hoping she will go into more details on the proper usage of all those gray markers (I watch a lot of the Miyazaki movies and it looks like the grays are used a lot for shading...but I've not been brave enough to try...yet...)

Sorry, I rambled... I really enjoy my Copics...

Oh, and here's a tip ~ if you haven't used your markers in a while ~ open both sides to let the pressure even out... ask me how I know... (the ink can sometimes come out in a blob... :( )

I have gotten the best priced ones from www.animeoc.com and www.oozak.com, but as well I have gotten bunch from www.hannastamps.com and www.allthatscraps.com
I started with the colors I really like and looked for 2 numbers difference, as it's good for shading, and as well colors which match the stampin' up! colors.
the first one I HAD to have was BG10, as it's like the SU soft sky which I absolutely love
