cheaper
smaller barrel size (read fits in my stubby fingers)
same nibs as sketch
refillable like the sketch
can be used with airbrush system with a little modification (there are blog entries all about it)
Con:
No replacement nibs
Only 144 colors (compared to sketch which I think has 310)
All in all, for my card-making purposes the ciao wins!

Actually your con is another pro.....the nibs are EXACTLY the same as the sketch markers and are replaceable too! Yup, I'm with the ciao's too although I am starting to fill in some of the blanks (color wise) with the sketch markers.
I got the full set of Ciaos because of the price, but I'm finding that I'd like to add some colors so I'll be forced to add some Sketches to my collection. If you think you might like some of the Sketch-exclusive colors and don't want 2 different styles of pens, you might want to just start with the Sketch markers.
I only have Sketch because I buy them individually at my local Dick Blick. I probably would have gone with the Ciaos if they sold them individually because of the price difference but at this point, I'm really happy with my Sketch markers.
