Default Chipboard

Hello,

I am ordering chipboard online. I ordered Grapfix chipboard, which I have ordered before and liked.

I'm curious to find a thinner chipboard. Anyone have any experience with the Umbrella Craft brand chipboard?

What chipboard are you all using? I need something thicker than cereal box/ Silhouette chipboard.

I just saw your post. Cereal box is good, but I find poster board is even better. It comes in colors, just the right weight, and fairly inexpensive considering the size you get for the money. The upside of cereal box is it's free. I love white poster board, because it can be used for boxes and decorated so easily.

I found a place on etsy that offers recycled/eco-friendly chipboard in a bunch of different thicknesses. I ordered a sample set and liked it. I will order again.

Thanks!

I've read of people using chipboard and I bought some but now I have no idea what to use it for!

I use it for book covers. I sometimes use chipboard, cereal box, or poster board for adding dimension to diecuts, but prefer foam or multiple cardstock diecuts glued together for lighter weight. I use poster bard for sturdy boxes. To be honest I rarely use it, except for book covers.

When I want thin chipboard I use the backing from paper stacks as its usually white. You can cut multiple circles then punch small holes and glue multiple pieces together to make buttons. Use it on the bottom of treat boxes for extra strength and stability. Use under a card layer for extra height instead of foam dots.
