CB Folder and Rolling Pin query
I have attempted to dry emboss using a CB folder and a marble rolling pin. I've misted the paper slightly, placed the paper into the folder, taped the folder shut, and rolled with my rolling pin. Each and every time, the results are less than perfect. Sometimes the paper is too damp. Other times, I can see where uneven pressure has been applied. Does anyone have any suggestions to offer besides, practise, practise, practise?
I can see where the rolling pin method would be very "challenging" for one to achieve consistent results every time it is employed . . .
To be perfectly honest, as attractive as this inexpensive option sounds--and, trust me, I'm as much a bargain hunter as the next chick, LOL!--, I just find it's worth investing in the right tool for the job, in order to achieve the best results. I use a Big Shot, and *love* it.
That's JMHO, and based on the fact that with the tendinitis I suffer in my right hand/arm, I couldn't use the rolling pin method anyway. . .
Mebbe someone whose figured out the secret to making the rolling pin work great every time will pop in here with some suggestions . . .

Also, if you have a LSS (local scrap/stamp store) why not go over and use their crop area and tools? Hopefully they'll have a die cut machine that works with the folders. Usually there's a small fee to crop. And you get to use their fun stuff!!!
I don't own the CB yet (I'm hoping to get it for my BDay in a few weeks) but in my experience everytime I try to buy something similar to what I really want to "get by" I end up purchasing what I really wanted anyway so now I have REALLY wasted money because I have the cheap imitation and the good one.

I do that sometimes, too, Julie. But ever so often, the cheapie works good, so I usually keep trying to find substitutes first.
In this case, I think the Cuttlebug is a good buy if you use a coupon at Michaels or Joanns, and other than a rolling pin, there aren't any cheaper substitutes, lol.
The other die cut systems that will work with Cuttlebug folders are more expensive than the Bug.
