Would appreciate some feedback on this. I have the Brilliance Galaxy Gold and the Pearlex gold but am not impressed with either of them really. I would love a bright cheerful gold, like my Krylon pen gold! Any suggestions?
Thanks
Tilly
Actually, when I'm looking for a brilliant metallic look, I'm not happy unless I emboss it. My only other option is to use Versamark, brush it with Pearl-Ex, and seal it. They both give bright, happy results. HTH!
Seal your Pearl Ex w/ Krylon Workable Fixative...excellent results!
Yep, that's what I use. Great use of a 40% coupon at Michael's!
BTW, some people suggest using inexpensive aerosol hairspray as a solution, but I've found that makes my paper curl, and eventually gets a bit sticky. Just my .02!

which gold ink pad
I used the Colorbox pigment the gold is not extremely bright but I used on mellow moss so maybe on white it would be different...but it did emboss nicely...
If you don't mind using non-SU pads, I actually found the re-formulated Mica Magic pads by Colorbox give some really shimmery colors. The yellow gold is nice on dark color cs. Also, if you prefer Tsukineko pads, the Opalite line is similar. These pads are almost like the Pearl-Ex pads in that they contain mica powder in the inks.

What else do you do with Opalite pads besides stipple with them on glossy? I have several pads - do you have to emboss if you just stamp with them? I just haven't played with them much yet. I haven't had them very long, most are still wrapped. They are lovely though.
Thanks....

I actually do stamp with them. And no you don't have to emboss them. They dry rather quickly and you can even stamp them on vellum (same with the Mica Magic pads). Real nice for elegant cards, party favors for weddings, bridal showers, etc.

First, I love your username.
Thanks. I absolutely love vellum. I know it's got its issues, but I have all of SU!'s printed vellums.... and when I went to the rubber craft whatever show last fall in San Jose, I bought papers. Vellums, papers with flowers in it, neat stuff. I KNOW there are websites and stores I could visit, and I could easily accumulate TOO MUCH paper. Or is that impossible. ??? I don't want to know everything out there yet or I'll go broke. LOL
I don't scrap, or I'd probably use more "printed" papers. Mostly I want stuff that's more subtle. Talking about this is making me want to go play.
I will post what I come up with.

My motto is: you can never have too much paper. I guess that's why I'm always buying new papers...
About the name... thanks. I can't play until next week. I've got too much other work to take care of. Oh well, you can play for me.
