I was just checking out http://www.happytape.bigcartel.com/
and I'm drooling over their beautiful washi paper tapes! Has anyone used these for card making? Are they too heavy, too similar to masking tape? Please share your experience, opinions, etc.
Thanks!
subscribing -- I've been looking at this stuff for a few months, and I think it's gorgeous. I'd love to hear about any experience people have had using it for cardmaking
I just made an order for an assortment of the smaller, about 1/4 inch tapes & some 1/2 inch in gold & silver. At $2.25 each for the small rolls I thought I would try them.
Saw them at a LSS but she didn't have all the pretty designed ones. Used it in a class to embelish a box lid.
If these are distributed by Kodomo, they will no longer be shipping to the US so once the US supply is gone it's GONE! Kodomo is closing their US distribution business but will still be in operation in Japan.

Please share with us what you think when you get your order. I'm wondering if they are good for cards or just ABAC.
Thanks in advance!

This is a good tip, Crafter! I tried to find out who is distributing the product, but was not successful. I did see that Martha Stewart featured them in her Mag. and they are getting lots of other press. Their web site says that it's now avail. in the US, but lots of things are, then they're gone!

Hi!! Did you receive your order yet? If so, what do you think of the tapes?
I received the tape today. It is thin & you can tear it like masking tape. It is smoother than masking tape & I quite like it!
I got mine here http://www.happytape.bigcartel.com/

Thanks for posting the description! I wondered how thick it was and was also wondering about the texture. I think I will order some after Christmas.
Thanks again for sharing the info!
My daughter-in-law got me a set of 10 for xmas. I had never even seen it before and she is not a crafter at all so I was SHOCKED when I got it. I haven't had time to play with it but it is really nice. Mine is from Happytape - online. I have 10 rolls and there is alot on each roll. The colors are gorgeous. The tape is thinner than masking tape and kind of sheer. It is easy to tear. I have no ideas on how to use it yet but hope to play with it in a few weeks.
