Question **I'll be in Burnaby, BC...Where should I shop?**

I'll be in Burnaby from Dec 22-26 and just HAVE to know...

What and where is your favorite store for supplies?

I'm from Victoria and it's pretty limited here...Michaels, Walmart and a couple of LSS. I'd love to hear about your favorite place to shop! I'm OK with "driving the distance" to go somewhere fun;)

Thanks for your tips!

Happy Holidays!

I have heard alot of talk about a store called 'Clipper Street', they have locations in Richmond, Coquitlam, and Langley. You can find their addresses here - http://www.clipperstreet.com/aboutus/locations.htm

Then Langley also has a store called Precious Memories - you can find them here - http://www.myscrapbookshop.com/

Hope this helps you !

Anyone else want to let me know about local shops? Pretty much any lower mainland location would work

There is a shop on Granville island (Its in the kids Marketplace called I'm impressed. They have lots of stamps and ribbon that is amazing I think it is 1.00 a metre??? They have monthly 1/2 price items (stamp of the month) etc.... Have fun .and yes you really need to check out the langley stores esp. precious memories there is one of us Jazzytobi that works thereand she holds classes she is great.
Another store that noone really knows about is in Surrey Scrapbookcity.ca .The owners are very nice too and some good deals .Have fun !!

Clipper Street Scrapbooking is a must! I was actually just there tonight! I have been to both the Coquitlam & Langley ones and I preferred the Langley one but it would be a longer drive. The lady at the Coquitlam one said that Langley has more of some products and I did find that true tonight. Also, don't even bother with the Richmond location apparently it is quite small & limited!

There are lots of LSS around here, it really depends what you are looking for.
Precious Memories is great (and quite close to Clipper Street in Langley!)

Check out some of the dollar stores (especially ones you won't have in Victoria) Dollarama has had some great stuff. I do know that there is one in Delta but not sure where else. I will see if I can find a website for you.

There is also a LSS in Coquitlam called Remember Me. I found a 30% off coupon but it won't let me post a link. I keep getting error messages! Anyway, if you just google Remember Me Scrapbooking in Coquitlam you should be able to find both the store site and the coupon site. It was under the titie - Scrapbooking dot com - store coupons.

I don't know what your Michael's is like but you may want to check out the new Michael's on Marine Way in Burnaby. It was very well stocked the last time I was there and able to find SO much more than I can at either of the other two I visit (Langley & Richmond) The Marine Way one is fairly new (within a month or two) and I was impressed with the amount of product they had out.

I really hope that you have a great time here and that you are able to get out and have a great time shopping!

Merry Christmas!

Wow, I was looking online to see if I could remember any more of the many stamp & scrapbook stores I have been to in the Lower Mainland, I found lots that I haven't been to in a while! You may also be inspiring me to do a little shopping around!

Okay, a couple more

World of Stamps in Richmond

Scrapbook Warehouse in Vancouver

and I'm Impressed on Granville Island. When I googled it, I got a second location in New West in the New West Quay, but I am almost positive (like 98%) that it has closed down.

I still can't get it to let me post links, so sorry!

imimpressed dot ca and scrapbookwarehouse dot com

You can find World of Stamps address if you google it. They have a TON of stamps!

I'm impressed has a coupon for 10% off on their website.

Hope this helps!

This is great! Now all I have to do is look on Mapquest to see how far it is to drive from Lynden to all these wonderful sounding shops.............

I can't recall the correct number, BUT there is a minimum number of posts you need to reach before you are able to add links.

Sadly, World of Stamps closed its doors in March, 2006. I miss it; my parents lived a 5 minute walk away from it, and I went waaaay too often!

what! World of Stamps closed! That stinks! I only moved back to BC in Feb of 06 and can't believe that I missed getting there again! Thanks for the heads up!

GarnetJ - when I tried to post links, it says I need to have posted 3 times in order to post links. I have passed 3 posts but it still doesn't let me! And the drive from Lynden shouldn't be that bad, depending on border lineups.

Only 3? I had no idea. Well that's the pits. You might post a complaint over in the Site Suggestions forum. Maybe Daven can give the computer a kick to make it wake up.

I looked up a couple of the stores in Langley. Right around 30 miles. After Christmas and after vacation...... hmmm... Maybe I'll come up in February and buy myself a Valentine present.

Default Old Island Stamps

Old Island Stamps is moving from Salt Spring Island to the mainland. A definite date has not been posted, but just thought this was a good place to let a few folks know. Here is the news.....
