Red face Window Sheets

Hi! I got a package of the window sheets but don't know what to do with them. I thought they would be clearer and I could layer them over images. What do you do with them? Thanks!

I did something at a workshop with them that I really liked -- maybe a demo can give better instructions as I do not remember the details too well - but I know we used a xyron machine - ran windo sheets through it - stippled pearl ex in a couple colors - sealed it - and had a stamped dragon fly on it. It turned out really really pretty. I got the stuff to try it on my own, but am thinking I need some help with it :(

Shaker Cards - Glitter Windows - There are tons you can do with them. You can make Clear Cards with them. I've seen some of those in the Gallery also.

I have not used the SU window sheets. I have used just plain old transparency sheets. I cut it to the size of my (white cs) card front. Stamped it with black staz-on. Then on the white cs I chalked where the design would be. It wasn't "colored" in the lines, but I liked the look. Then I attached the transparency to the CS with brads. I did it with flowers from petal prints and the cala lily from ageless adornment.

Default Window Sheets & Shaker Boxes

I just made an adorable card this afternoon using the window sheet & SU micro beads for a "shaker box" .. but I wonder if anyone has any suggestions on how to keep the beads from spreading ("static") when placing the window sheets over them??? Thanks for any help!

Did you try rubbing your window sheet with a dryer sheet like bounce before attaching? Sometimes that will eliminate some of the static.

THANKS! I've never tried the dryer sheet. Will try that--it definitely makes sense!

My DH is an electrician and has much experience with static issues.

A week or so ago, I forgot to wipe my acetate with a dryer sheet or damp cloth before putting it on to my shaker card, and those beads were clinging for dear life to my window! Drat!

That's when DH said that even AFTER you've put the window on, you can still rub the OUTSIDE of it, and it will help cut down on the static! I gave it a go, and waddaya know! It definitely helped alot!!

P.S. A USED dryer sheet will do the trick! You don't want to spread the oils from a new one all over your window! :0)

Wink Window Sheets

I have had fun with these. Someone mentioned running it through the zyron. If you don't have one of those you can just go get some spray adhesive and spray one side. Stamp your image in Stazon on the other side. Then you use chalks to color in the image on the sticky side. I have done this with clear Contact Paper before too and it's really cool! You can also use pearlex powders to color with depending on what look you want. Another way is to not put any sticky on it at all and just color it in with markers on the back. I did one card with the little girl stamp from "By The Sea". I stamped her in black stazon and then I put a piece of cardstock on top of it and secured it with tape so it wouldn't move. Then I placed that over a light box and she showed through. I colored with water colors on the card stock. Then when I was done I put the clear piece on top and the colors showed through perfectly. Then I just attached it with eyelets or snaps (can't remember which). It came out really neat!

So there are some things you can do with it. If you have any questions you can PM me or email me at [email protected]
Enjoy!

Default Twinkling H20's

I have also painted the back of the acetate (stamped the front with Stayzon ink) with Twinkling H20's. You have to get them 'thick' but it looked awesome!

Kind of a stupid question, but the window sheets are what we use for the "floating card" look? They are kind of pricey in the catty at ~$1 a sheet but we just did a make and take at my uplines and the quality was very nice. What are the office supply ones like in comparison, especially if making an entire card?

What's the advantage of using a window sheet instead of regular acetate (transparencies)?
