I used white "Scribbles" fabric paint on the back of my "floating ornaments," and it actually dries on the acetate. You just have to let it sit for a few minutes. Then I am using my 2-way glue and glitter on the front side. Hope this helps anyone with this problem.
I'm not sure if you can use the versamark w/pastels--you can try, but you can mix some pastel color with the white paint to get a different color (like for skin tone). If you don't have "Scribbles" fabric paint, any acrylic paint should also work.
I used Liquid Applique for white also. First I tried a white craft pad, but it never dried. Then I tried the LA and it worked great. Just another option.
I applied the white craft ink with a sponge dauber and Q-tips and then lightly heat set for about 45 seconds being careful to keep the gun at a distance and continuously moving. My workshop guests had problems yesterday though when using the SU markers. We stamped on the rough side and colored on the slippery side which I believe was one problem as well as trying to get a super dark color om Frosty's hat and scarf. My demo sample dried quickly because I did not over color. To get a darker color I think you need to let dry briefly and then apply more. I think stamping on the slippery side is a bit more challenging, but the marker ink appears to adhere to the rough side better. Anybody else have a similar experience?
Yep I just followed my above instructions and the only modification was that I did lightly heat set after the markers (I was too impatient) and it worked perfectly.
