Default Using embossing folders on larger than average cardstock pieces?

Is there a technique for this? I searched on this forum and couldn't find anything but might be search-impaired! LOL

Lately, most of my cards are 5.5 x 5.5 instead of the usual 4.25 by 5.5. I enjoying having a bigger "canvas" to create on. ;-)

I've searched youtube also and can't find a tutorial.

In a nutshell, I'd like to be able to use CB embossing folders to emboss over the larger space on a 5.5 piece of cardstock.

Maybe it can't be done?

TIA!

I did use a cuttlebug folder for this card, which is 5.5 x 8.5: Sympathy Card for co-worker by cat_woman - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers
I embossed off the edge on the first pass, and then I moved the paper over, lining up the image and put it back in the folder. It will slip back over the raised part of the folder. Then ran it through for the second part of the card. I only did the top part of the card, but I think you would have to do the design side-ways for a piece longer than the folder. Usually, if I need something bigger than the cuttlebug folders, I use my texture plates.

Letterpress plates are also bigger.

Cat: thanks for that tip! I'll try it! On that card, you used my favorite embossing folder.

Indy: I'm not familiar with Letterpress. Will have to Google.
