I am sure I am not alone in refusing to spend $6-8 for 4 of the layered flowers in a store.
I came across this tutorial for making twine flowers..super easy!
I would love to see what others have found for resources/tutorials to make flowers for cards or scrapbooking. Maybe you have taught yourself a style?

Facial tissue make pretty carnation type flowers. A full tissue will make one that's probably too big for most card or LO requirements but you can scale down. The one on the attached card I did with a strips about 2" wide cut across the width of the tissue. Stack a few strips, accordion fold along the length (I did about 1/2") and then wrap wire or thread half way along the strip. Round off the blunt ends (you'll need strong, sharp scissors since you're going through multiple layers) and then run a marker round the cut edge if you want some colour - I used a Memento one. Now carefully separate the layers of tissue to make a fluffy bloom. I added Glossy Accents and micro beads to make a centre but a button glued in would look cute.

I get emails of the 2 peas video classes. I just looked at this one, which is how to make darling flowers from tulle. They are very simple and very cute.
Hobby Lobby sells the tulle in rolls very cheap and in lots of colors. I also use the tulle for wrapping packages.

I love the creativity in flowers..large and small.
Michaels has silk flowers on sale this week. I bought some of the gerbera daisies nad pulled them apart at home for use on cards. It worked out to 30 cents per flower.

The simplest flowers I make are punched with a circle punch from layers of tissue paper, you place a brad in the centre and then scrunch each layer towards the middle one at a time, they look great misted, also try using old books to die cut circle or flower shapes and do the same thing
