Question tear off calendars

Does anyone have an idea how to make mini tear away calendars? I downloaded the actual 2007 calendars from inkstains.com but can't figure out how to adhere them together so they can get "torn" off. I hope this makes sense...LOL Thanks in advance!

I'm pretty sure that kinkos will do the glue stuff or bind them for you. When I was in college I took a printing class, and to do tablets of paper we just brushed this special glue on the ends.....it seems like I've seen it somewhere recently.....I'll have to try and remember.

it wasn't rubber cement......I think it was actually called binding glue....check out this link though, it says that watered down elmers glue will do the job!

I think its called padding compound. You can get it from Viking. You binder your pages together, brush on the glue (its pink), let it dry and you're all set.

I was just thinking how about leaving a little room at the top - staple them all together along the top like a book - but first perferate them across. then you can make it like a book - you know add a back & front. or a flap that goes from the back to the front with scores to encase the whole thing.

The ones I have seen on this site seem to be held together with brads and they just rip from the brad. The calendars were just run off on paper, not card stock, so it should rip fairly easily from a brad. Mary

I did them exactly how stamphappykathy explained.

Printed each month on a piece of paper (say 4" across 6" down) and ran the perforating blade at one-half inch.

Laid all 12 months on top of each other and stapled together (above the perforation mark).

Then had a Colored CardStock cover/backing (say 4.5" across and 7.5" down)

I mono'd the back of the last sheet (December) and put on the colored CS - lining up for even margins on the sides and bottom.

Used decorative scissors to cut the top.

Mono'd over the stapled area of January (the top one-half inch) and folded the colored CS to it.

This allowed for the top month to be pulled off at the month ended, btu the calendar to look the same all year.

Good Luck.

I use Elmer's glue (any white glue) or Aleene's Tacky glue. They both seem to work OK. You need to make sure that the calendar pages are really held together well before you put the glue on them. A clamp works well. Then, smear the glue on the top of the pages. I work the glue a bit with my finger. Then let it dry. Sometimes the glue does miss some of the pages, so I often make a few more than what I really need. The padding compound was suggested to me a couple of years ago. I haven't searched it out though. Give the white glue a try and see how it works for you.

Thank you all so much for the suggestions...I plan on trying all of them to see which works best. I'll post again when I make something!

Default Mini Tear off calendars

I've used punched holes in the two corners and used brads to attach them.

Good luck Peggy

I made a small notepad using die cuts from Sizzix. Very cute.

I also just punched holes and used brads. I like the look. Then just use mono all over December and stick to acrylic frame front.
