SU watercolor pencils

I just got the SU watercolor pencils and was wondering what is the best thing to use to blend them? I have looked at some of the cards in the card gallery and have been just amazed buy the beautiful colors that were used and would love to do that with my cards. Any suggestions would be great.

A plain, wet watercolor brush always worked just fine for me! Just be sure that the examples you're looking at in the gallery actually used WC pencils and not Prismacolor colored pencils with odorless mineral spirits. The effect will be very different, with colored pencils giving much bolder results.

Thanks for the info. I will make sure that I look and see what was used on the cards in the gallary. I have had lots of fun looking at them. I have been just in AAAHHH of what you ladies have made, they are just beautiful.

It's all in your preference. I've used the blender pens from SU!, watercolor pens and watercolor brushes. It's what you are most adept at. They all work great, but all have an amount of water that comes out with each that may affect your outcome. Experiment! What tool you didn't think would work with the pencils because you weren't 'experienced' with it, may produce a different outcome than what you were originally thinking - to the better!! And I hope we see your creations in the gallery!!! ;)

I find my SU blender pens work the best.

I like to use SU blender pens too. The watercolor paper gives the WC pencils and blender pens a more artistic look also.

I also use blender pens with my WC pencils, I use the aquapainter with the ink pads to watercolor. HTH

I am just starting to experiment too! I find that I really like the tip of the blender pen, but the aquapainter can give you strokes. I have also noticed that shading seems to be a big part of the appeal of watercolor and that some people have commented that they use different colors to achieve the variation in color.

Have fun. I really like the All Natural set for coloring the flower.
