Oh they are great on glossy paper. I use mine with my marvy ink pads (they can ruin a pad over time) the pad really has to be pretty juicy. they help soften the background up. stamp in the hand uses them all the time with their stamps as well as stampscapes.
here is a sample of one that I already have in my gallery. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

Beautiful card, Laura!
I wish I had asked this question before I sold mine on Ebay! I bought them to use with the PearlEx, but ended up never getting into that so I sold it all and bought more stamps!
They are perfect for adding a hint of color. Especially to white cardstock...reduces the white 'glare' so to speak. I use mine on almost every card! Nice soft look.

Well I have purchased some at a stamp store that are about 2 and a half inches in total height. they have a wooden handle and a scruffy top; like a messed up paintbrush! LOL. They are made my JudiKins and are called color dusters. they are so inexpensive that i use one for every color! i did an easter card a few years back and used these little suckers in marvy pads and made fluffy clouds and grass and they are great for masking. I masked a bunny on some rolling hills and using the brushes gave it a very soft look. Not harsh like markers. i really like them. hope this helps...

I have some of these too. the different sizes give a bit different looks. the dusters can add more color then the regular stipple brushers. they sure help spruce up a plain card.
I love these and use them all the time for making my own background papers. Always have the color paper I want that way.
I also use various sizes of stencil brushes that I get cheap from HL. I have some really little ones that are great when you are working in tight areas or a small scrap of paper. Love 'em!

saw a tip/technique in teh new ctmh catalog about using stipple brushes and reinkers. put reinker in a seperate bowl then dip in stipple brush and then drag on paper for a cool effect
