Default Stamping on Ribbon without it bleeding....

Hi,
I just tried stamping on some ribbon that I bought at Micheals. It's cheep grosgrain 100% polyester ribbon. And well...the ink bleeds. I knew that it might do that but I took a chance. Are there any tricks that can be done before hand to the ribbon so that it doesn't bleed? Maybe spraying it with acrylic? Does this happen with the Stamping Up! ribbons? Any hints would be great...

I use StazOn and it works fine (I only use the SU ribbon so I don't know about other ones).

I believe you can use pigment ink or SU craft ink on ribbon. It is your permanent ink choice.

After I "dye" the ribbon with regular classic ink, I spray with cheap hairspray to set it. It seems to work fine. Make sure you are outside and hold the ribbon about 6 inches from ribbon. HTH.
