Default stamping on fabric?

I want to stamp on fabric, and I keep seeing people using "craft ink". What is it exactly, is it the same as chalk ink?

If you're using SU brand. Craft inks are the sponge ink pads as opposed to the ones that look more like gauze. I just made a tote out of burlap, stamped it with versamark and embossed it. I didn't know I could do that.

There is a line called Fabrico made specifically for stamping on fabric. I have used it for baby onsies and it holds up well to washing.
