Default Stamping on Craft Foam Sheets

I recently saw some cool tags with foam embellishments. I think the foam was heated first, then stamped with an encore pad. I couldn't wait to try it myself!

So, I heated the sheet, pressed the encore-inked stamp into the foam, and held for a few seconds. When I remove the stamp, the foam is impressed with the image - very nice!

But, one problem - the ink doesn't seem to dry! Argh! I tried heating again to set the ink, but that makes the foam puff back up and I lose the nice impression (it almost looks like embossed leather before reheating and totally loses that look after reheating). Any of you wonderful SCSers know how the heck to do this???

Thanks in advance...

Default stamping on foam

I have done this before but I did not use ink. I just heated the foam and pressed the stamp into and left the image. I believe I may have used chalk to give the raised areas some color

I heated the foam, stamped and then painted with pearl ex and the aqua painter (future floor wax) and it dryed.

Did you paint with the future floor wax and pearl ex in the stamped image, or on the raised part around the image?

I was using a bolded image, and coloring it in.

I have done this before but just used the regular classic ink. It dried fine. I wonder if it has something to do with the encore ink.

I usually seal my work with an acrylic sealer spray like Krylon to ensure that the Pearl Ex, rub ons, or whatever I am using does not come off.

I heated the foam and pressed my stamp into it. Then I rubbed VersaMark over the whole piece and sprinkled gold embossing powder over. The VersaMark didn't go where the image was impressed. Then heated it up to melt embossing powder. The impression heated out but left the reverse embossed image.

see what I mean
