Cool sky

Hi can anyone tell me how to do the sky as a background please I am stamping images coloring them in and they look a bit blank with out a sky.I use water colour pencils.I have no chalks. I have tried sponging but it looks like I have dipped the sponge in the stamp pad and it is a spotty finish. Thanks in advance.Have a great day

I just use a cloud template I made a sponge and ink. I have found that it works best if you ink up the sponge and them stamp off your page then stamp on your project--I tend to swirl it on. Don't know if that makes much sense.

Here are some tutorials that may help:

I may a sky using a cotton ball of all things! I just tap it on an ink pad and then lightly tap on my cardstock. You can keep inking your cotton ball and "tapping" to get the desired color and shading. Technical, no. Does it work for me? Yes! You don't get the "spotty finish" that you do from a sponge. I am going to view those tutorials though!

When I use a sponge, I rub the paper in a circular motion with a lot of pressure, multiple times and this eliminates the splotches.

Thanks so much ladies, that is wonderful I do appreciate your help.Apparently I should do the sky first and then stamp the image,I have been doing it back the front.I always get so excited about stamping and coloring then I look and think what now.I also will use your techniques on the grass. Thanks again.
