Default Stamping on Velvet

I am working on next weeks newsletter and decided to take some pictures for stamping on Velvet. It's always easier to understand new techniques with visual help.
I used Velveteen paper in my sample. I bought it at Hobby lobby. I was scared holding a hot iron over my stamp for 20 seconds. Especially since I can't order another one until next month and I am in love with this new background stamp. But it didn't hurt it.
Supplies:
Velvet or velveteen Paper (I used Velveteen paper bought at Hobby Lobby)
Iron
Solid or brushstroke stamp image (I used French Flair)

Step one:
Set your iron on medium heat with no steam.

Step two:
Lay your stamp down, rubber facing up.

Step three:
Lay your velveteen paper or velvet fabric on top of the stamp, velvet side facing the rubber of the stamp.

Step four:
Press your hot iron down for 10 - 20 seconds. Lift up carefully so you don't move the fabric/paper.

Finish your project.

You can find my finished sample here

This looks so easy! Thanks for sharing. I saw a Martha Stewart segment for embossing velvet. She made bookmarks using velvet ribbon. Yummy holiday gifts for everyone I am giving a book to. lorijane

Default velveteen paper

I have already checked and my hobby lobby and micheals and Joanne's and the local scrapbook store does not carry velveteen paper. UGH !! I wonder if any of the splitcoast member company's carry it? Also the local fabric stores do not carry the right blend of velvet.
