Ribbon ruffle?
Hi!
I've been seeing the cutest folded / pleated-looking ribbon ruffle on cards. I think it's done some way with the Tim Holtz stapler. I think this technique might have been demoed at Archiver's last year...
By chance would anyone have a link to a video that shows how this is done?
Thanks!
Bonnie

Are you sure it's not Maya Road's pleated ribbons?

Yet, I'm almost positive before the holidays I did view a tutorial where using a Tim Holtz stapler, ribbon could be put on a card and the affect was this beautiful pleated ribbon look. Yet...now I can't find it again!
I haven't look real hard, and was hoping someone could help me out. I probably need to look a little harder!
Thanks!

If you find it, please post it! I've only seen the ruffled/pleated ribbon. Honestly, stapling sounds too complicated for me! I like the work already done! HAHA!

Don't remember which blog I saw the pleating technique on, but it looked pretty simple.
She just ran a line of sticky tape across her card, and then started attaching the ribbon to it, pleating as you go. I'll try to find it and post here.

However, I liked the one that I wasn't aware of that is also posted above here in this thread. In fact, in my search (which was unsuccessful) I found many really interesting variations on pleated ribbons.
Thanks to all who responded!

Thank you! I really like this one too. Plus it doesn't require staples.

I was also wondering how people are doing the ribbons.

I use a strip of red tacky tape and basically do what these great tutorials show. Also found that the satin ribbons need more sticky as they sometimes come off. I have a couple of cards on my blog using these techniques.

pleats and gathers are super easy. you can use a sewing machines to gather or pleat, or if you dont own a sewing machine you can hand stitch long basting stitches and pull to gather. Pleating is even easier with hand stitches, just make a loop and sew it a bit make another loop and sew.
