plastic wrap technique

Hello! I was searching through this site and saw a card from 2005 called winter morning. She did it with plastic wrap and markers. It looked really cool. Any ideas on how this is done, or where I might find out? Thank you!!!

I'm making assumptions since I haven't seen the card myself. I would imagine she just colored on the plastic wrap with the markers and then put it on the paper.

Hi Deanne..I looked in the gallery and this is the card that I found: Winter Morning by Janice Brinson at Splitcoaststampers
I have used this technique before but I think there are variations on it. The way that I did it was to color onto the wrap with markers, spritz with water and then place the paper on top of the wrap. I think you can also wrinkle up the wrap and press it directly onto a stamp pad then your paper making sure that you maintain some of the ripples in the wrap. Don't know if that helps much. I think if you use glossy cardstock, the ink will grab the paper better and the wrinkles are more visable. You may have to experiment a bit.

Something else you can do in addition to wadding up plastic wrap and inking it with a stamp pad or marker and then "pouncing" it on the paper is to try the same with with crumpled foil or wax paper. They have different densities of texture and you can even combine all 3 to make a background. I tend to use the darkest color with the foil because it is the least dense of the 3!
