Wink crystal lacquer renewed

I thought I'd share what happens when crystal lacquer (CR) dries up in the bottle.
When wanting to add water around a stamped mermaid I went for the CR- oops it had been in storage too long. Yick! all thick!
I tried stirring it around with a stick- didn't work so I swirled some around the stick and managed to get it in the little plastic cups I use (saved from container drink mixes) Then I added a very little water, after stirring and smoothing the stuff in the cup I painted it on a punchie and it gave gloss! It isn't as thick as the fresh stuff but at least it's a gloss.Oddly it filled the holes in a button punchie. I'm going to use it for tags and things.
Using a clean cup I tried using a spritz of alcohol to the stuff with the same glop stir and smooth but the alcohol seemed to take the gloss out of the punchie.
I tried the water one on texture paper and it made the texture stand out.
I painted the alcohol one on a paper and some areas were slightly (sort of) glossy but nothing special.
The mermaid is still waiting for her water until I can get some more CL

I guess the "use it or lose it" is true!
