Question pergamano cards

Does anyone have instructions on making pergamano or parchment cards. I have seen several but need help in doing them. Can you use the parchment paper from the grocery store?

Thanks

Pat

Hi Pat, I bought a Pergamo beginner kit and actually just took a class at a local stamp shop. We just traced a stamp pattern using what is similiar to a calligraphy pen and the white dorso ink. It is quite simple but time consuming. You then turn it over and emboss with a stylus on a foam mat. Then we used a piercing tool to do a decorative edge around the card and cut it out. It turned out quite nice but my hand was sore. The parchment paper, they say, is special for this craft but I just bought the cardstock weight of SU vellum and am going to give it a try. The paper needs some "body" to it to hold up to the embossing. I don't know if this helps. I had bought the kit some time ago and wasn't sure how to use it and was glad when the opportunity to take a hands on class became available. I also had never thought of using a stamp pattern for the pattern.

Michelle has a great tutorial in her blog. Here is the link. Also, if you do a search in the gallery, you will see about 2 pages of them.
Have fun!!

If you google pergamano you can find some interesting sites.

This site has beautiful samples in their gallery:

Lots of books, kits, patterns, papers and inks for pergamano at Dandee Images. Look along the left margin for index.
