Okay, I bought SU's Pearl-EX (asst. III). I have a Perfect Pearls combo pack from Ranger, that I've used a few time, but have not been too successful. Are these the same thing? Also, what exactly does "interference" mean regarding PE. Basically, I need dummy-type instructions for this stuff. When I use it, it's a mess and rather "yuck" looking. I have brushes, cotton balls, make-up swabbers...I think I'm set to go, just need some direction. I'm so excited to use this stuff. (I think)
Thank you ladies...you all are so talented and helpful. I'm hoping to get out of the PE rut.
For those that can't open attachments because of their computers, here's a few basics ~
PE is easy! It's not like anything else out there so, no, it isn't like your product from ranger.
Basic PE use is this ~ versamark, stipple brush, an embossing buddy and a Pledge wipe.
Start with rubbing with the embossing buddy ~ I know, you thought it was just for embossing ~ after stamp with versamark. Take a little on your brush and apply to versamark. Wipe with Pledge Wipe and you are done.
It's really simple and anyone can do it. And once you play and master the basic, you can go on and create wild things using PE.
And interference means just that. You can still see the color of the paper with a hint of the color PE you've used when it's on white. On black it has a whole different effect.
Tammy,
Wowzer! That's a great tip sheet. This exceded my expectations. Thank you so much. I can't wait to actually use this stuff. I mean collecting is fun and everything, but you know Also, Kymberstamps, thanks for the embossing buddy heads-up. That's been a lot of my problem. When I'm done the PE is on everything, not just my intended image.
You can also:
Mix some PE in with clear embossing powder to emboss with it.
Put some in a travel sized bottle of hairspray for glittery spray.
Mix it in with Lumiere and use it as a paint.
Also, one way that I use it is to do poppin' pastels, and right away after you're done "pastel-ing" ;) you swish some PE over your design. Swiffer cloth to dust off residue and it just gives the image an elegance. Try it with Tender Toile--ooooh VERY cool.
