Default No Prisma's ?? Try Pure Color Pencils !!

After I did the no copics not problem post. I got to thinking about the Prismacolors and the SU option for that. Here is the card I made, and I have a tutorial on that as well!

Pure Color Card

Pure Color Tutorial

If you try this technique, please link to here in your card description, so others can see it and we spread the word! Also use the keyword PCOP (pure color or prismacolor) in your upload, so I can comment on your card!

Cute card! It's amazing what ordinary household items work for this technique. I can't really tolerate the Gamsol, either, so I started using ordinary paste shoe polish (neutral). It doesn't work quite as fast as the gamsol, but it's much easier on my lungs! A lot of folks use baby oil, too.

The Metallic pencils work just as well. I've always used the pure color/metallic pencils with baby oil. Have quite a few cards in my gallery using them this way.

Thank you, Julie, for showing us how to do the mineral oil technique! I love Prisma/OMS and have read about using baby oil and Goo Gone. The only thing that has kept me from trying them is how the oil will affect my stumps with on going coloring. In your tutorial, you said we don't saturate the stump, only just touch it to the mineral oil. Well, I'm gonna try it. Will I have to dedicate stumps to the oil and not use them with OMS afterward?? I have around 100 Prismas and just bought the Koh-i-noor pure color pencils. I LOVE the Koh-i-noor for highlighting and shadowing after I'm through with Prismas.. so much more colorful and realistic.
I so enjoy reading your blog. Your work is fantastic and I've learned a lot studying it. TFS!! May God bless, Sandi
