Default Inking up embossing folder

HELP.every time I try to ink up embossing folder then emboss card ,it comes out uneven blotchy.I am also huffing and puffing on the embossing folder.I am exhausted.I am making sure there is plenty of ink on the roller, I am using red ink pad on white card stock and using different emossing folders but it never comes out like the you tube examples that I have watched .Am I being picky.
Please anyone that has done this let me know where I am going wrong.

have you tried rolling the ink in both directions, that might help with the coverage. Just a thought.

Perhaps it is due to using a wet dye ink.
My best success at this technique has been with a light roll-on of chalk ink. Pigment inks also work well, but a light hand works best.

Best wishes!
