Default Ideas using laminator

Anyone out there got any neat ideas for using a laminator machine? I did see one video where the person made some 'ghost' images by laminating stamped images and cutting them out. Neat! But I wonder if there are any other creative geniuses with ideas to share.

If anyone wants to see the video that I mentioned, here is the shortcut link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hbgsguAZdNc

If you have kids around a laminator is great for making games a bit more durable. You can do things like stamp cute animal characters for memory games or dominos and then laminate the pieces so they stand up to the rough n tough handling they're likely to get! Laminating bookmarks is also a good idea if they're for kids.

Try making labels for your barbeque or party food - stamp (and colour if it's line art) a nice image on a small top fold card and then laminate it. Use the kind of markers designed to write on a whiteboard to write on them and then when your party's done you can wipe clean and save them for next time.

The stuff on the video is cute but I confess I don't see any advantage to doing it that way rather than just stamping on transparency or clear card sheet and I suspect it's more expensive to use up your laminating pouches!

Thanks for the ideas, Angelnorth. You're right that the technique, on the video, could be achieved with just stamping on transparencies. Still, the more techniques the better, eh? Ha ha ... can you tell I'm Canadian? .... NO, we don't all say "eh". :OD

I'm not a genius but the person I got this idea from is! Print out on a Laser Jet only (inkjet won't work) a digital sentiment or image edited as dark a black that you can get either in Word or Photoshop; Cut a piece of DECO FOIL in any color, color side up and grey side down on top of image; Run through Laminater to transfer beautiful foil to the image.
