Default I fnally fgure out the Gamsol technique

 I have been struggling with the Gamsol techique for a while now and have tried all different papers and nothing would work, so I finally decided to break down and buy some Stampin Up Whisper White and WALLAA it finally worked for me. I am so excited. I just love the look of this technique and was getting so mad that I could not do it, now I can. Thanks to all who gave me helpful hints on prior post of mine asking for help. So if anyone out there is having a hard time with this technique and were to cheap to buy Stampin up white paper like I was, just try it! Maybe your demo could give you one sheet to try it out ?? I just know that it was only way I could get the 'right' look!

You can just upload them to your gallery, can't you? Then a lot more of us would see them!

Gamsol Magic is the technique that I use all the time - I always use
very vanilla. Have you tried that paper yet?

Where do you buy Gamsol? I looked for it at Hobby Lobby and didn't find any container that said Galsol. Please advise.

I had to go to Michaels and found a product called Mona Lisa's Odorless Paint Thinner. It has a picture of Mona Lisa on the front and the bottle is actually white. I use that and Stampin Up Whisper White paper...works so wonderful. I love my stamps again!! Good Luck !

Default Gamsol

I haven't tried Whisper White and will have to order some. I got my pencils,
gamsol and blending stumps at www.Inky Antics.com I have also seen the pencils at Hobby Lobby. Gamso is an ordorless mineral spirits. Gamso is Manufactured by Gamblin Artists Color Co. which may be why you can't find "Gamso" I don't know about a paint thinner.
You will also need "blending stumps" (cost $1.67 for 6) or tortillons as they are called at Hobby Lobby. They are rolled paper, pointed at one end for detailed blendng. Now this sounds crazy but the ones from TIAWAN are alot better than the ones from CHINA. I have tried them both. Hobby Lobby has them from Tiawan and Michaels has them from China. The ones from Tiawan blend alot better and last longer. Also in case you don't know - you can use an embry board to sharpen the tip thus removing the chalk that builds up. As the chalk builds up it doesn't blend as well.
As you can see I have done my homework on this technique and Love it.
I have SU pencils, watercolor crayons, markers etc and to me nothing makes your artwork compare to using this technique. And of course the paper makes
all the difference in the world as you have found out.
I hope this is helpful and I hope if others have found other ways to help in
this technique they will share - which of course they will! This is SCS everyone is great. :-D

I too looked all over for gamosol. My DH told me to go to Lowes or Home Depot and buy a can of oderless mineral spirits. Works for me. I also was trying to use it on different papers and of course SU is the best.
