HOW do you use baby oil to enhance colored pencil colorings?
I read that people( stampers!) use baby oil
To help with their coloring stamped images.
Do you dab it on a Q-tip first and have at it by
smudging what you've laid down with colored pencils?( as long as you've stamped
Using permanent ink like Staz-On). Can someone
Please describe the oil technique? Also.. I want
To get to Wall-Mart now to get those amazing
Sounding colored pencils. I really need to
Improve my coloring( so that what I do doesn't look
Like a pre-schooler did it! Yikes!!)
Thanks!

a cotton swap would probably pick up too much oil, most people use a paper stump (found in the fine arts section of stores) to blend with. They are pretty cheap and come in various sizes. I recommend getting a couple of packs so you can dedicate one to each color group, i.e... reds, blues, greens, etc.
Great idea about designation of blending
Stumps to a color group( you can tell I
Am such the newbie at this technique!)
Wondering how many folks do their color
Blending on regular old cardstock( I bought
White cardstock at Michaels, for instance).

This is a fun technique. I pour a small amount of baby oil in a little plastic container with a lid. I use a cotton swap or stump, a tiny paint brush works well also. If you get too much oil dab it on a paper towel. Stamp image, color with pencils, go over image with baby oil one color at a time.
