I've never tried "coloring" with them but i love them for inking solid images and for clear stamps. Great coverage, nice, soft finish. They will stain your clear stamps, though, if that sort of thing matters to you.

Thanks! I don't mind the stains, I guess if my stamps aren't stained, I'm either not getting enough crafting time or I'm not doing enough stamping! LOL
Oooh, lucky you!! I love the Versamagic inks - you should be able to use them with your blender pen... what I like to do is tap a little ink on an acrylic block and then paint with the ink using a waterbrush. Here is an example:
I Have colour box chalks and I can distress with them. I use a damp baby wipe, put a block colour onto a glass mat the wipe up with baby wipe. Then in a circular motion over the card stock for a great distressed look.
Another idea I have done is stamp a block image I have used a teddy image with chalk in a sand colour.
Then used a darker shade on a textured stamp and "kiss together" then the teddy will have texture.
I then stamped onto tissue paper,
with the image facing you lay the tissue back on the textured stamp and gently stroke the tissue. This will take up the remaining dye for the stamp.
Scrunch up tissue tight release and leave crumpled
Then and after using a glue stick onto the card stock place the tissue onto the glue for a further textured look. The latter part of this was the faux linen effect is in the resources. I have used it so many time I love it.
If ths sounds complictated I will try and do a you tube for you, let me know and I will try to do it this week. Its a great idea.
I love stamping with chalk inks, then immediately clear embossing over it, especially scripture stamps....it really looks great! That way you don't have to have an entire collection of embossing powders! Oh yeah, make sure you clean your stamp right away!
I have attached a close up of a framed wedding gift...hopefully the embossing shows!
I like that they give a nice solid image especially with solid stamps and fine, small font sentiments especially on textured or distressed paper. I often use them with cheap stamps that stamp blotchy with dye ink (even after I condition them). And any time I want a more opaque image or a softer feel like on baby cards. I wish I had more of them but just the cats eyes as I don't use them that often.

It's very simple....I inked up my stamp with dark brown chalk ink (mine are SEI brand), stamped onto the designer paper, then poured clear embossing powder over the stamped verse. Dump off the excess powder, then heat with your embossing gun and voila!!

I use them DTP blending colors for lovely backgrounds. They blend so nicely with such a soft look. Then an image can be stamped on top. I'm not at home right now, but when I get there, I will submit a picture. Other than that, I ofte stamp images with the chalk inks for a soft, chalked look. Must say, I often forget to use them until it hits me that they will be just perfect for what I'm trying to achieve.
