Default HELP!! Spiral punch and onboard journals

Could someone please please please tell me how to use the spiral punch with the onboard journals so the paper fits the journal from edge to edge. When I punch it now I am left with about an 1/8" on the top and bottom...drives me crazy!!

What I did was cut my paper to size then put it against the wire & mark the edge of the paper with a pencil ( one of the middle ones) Do the 1st punch here & work out to both sides. Mine lined up perfectly.

Hope this helps.

I also cut a piece of scrap paper to size, line it up with the wire and mark the first hole to punch. At this mark, cut a small slit with your paper snips and use this slit as your first guide mark, then punch down to create the remaining holes, finally turn the paper over and punch the last hole where you cut the slit. I always try this on scrap paper so that I'm sure thast everyhting is lined up before I use the good paper. HTH.

I ran into a problem when trying to cover a journal. The wholes lined up perfectly with the spiral punch, HOWEVER, the depth of the wholes on the journal were deeper that the depth on the spiral punch. (clear as mud?)UGH! Back to the drawing board. I guess you would need to punch a length of cs and take it with you when picking out spiral bound notebooks
