I need some suggestions from double slider experts (the double slider with the plastic bag in which you pull on one side, and have the other side pop out as well). I have made a few of the and although I absolutely love this technique, it also frustrates me to no end. My sliders seem to catch all the time (on my last one, the plastic got stuck and actually bent the inside pice of paper and I had to remake it). Do you think I am putting the plastic bag on too tightly? I have tried different types of plastic, and I have tried reinforcing the edges of the paper (but that is a disaster because it just creates a ledge for the paper pull to to get caught on). Any words of advice would be welcome - I have no problem experimenting and trying new things, so and suggestions would be welcome!
Do you have waxed paper? I found that worked very well and gave a better "slide" than a plastic bag. It also does sound possible that you're wrapping the bag strip too tightly - have you tried just loosening it a little?

I think they type is bag makes a difference. I don't know how to describe various plastic types but the less noisy the bag is when you crumple it, the better success I've had with it. I was going to try a thicker, smoother plastic like a freezer baggie next time, a good quality one. And avoid any seams in the bag which can catch. Hope that helps! I wonder if using a piece of quilt weight cotton fabric might work. Hmmm. An experiment perhaps? Or maybe a piece of smooth satin ribbon with the shiny side in? Try this things.
The best bag I've found to use is the nice, heavy bags you get at a scrapbook store (that's where I got mine, anyway) that they put your papers in. I've thought Archiever's bags would work because they are heavy, but no. I agree to avoid seams and make your loop snug but not tight.
I made a gazillion of these for christmas and for workshops and use the crisply folded stampin up bags (that I have a box full of over the years) cutting it into strips, avoiding the seams and taping it on just shy of snug and they have not failed me yet! Good luck!
The heavier zip lock bags work well too - no need to double up. I have had single ply strips from plastic bags break on me so I used to fold the strip in half but the taping or glueing became messy. Try taping/glueing the pop up piece close to where the plastic is taped so that the taped part does not have to go around the edge (so it doesn't get caught).

Karen - I think you are onto something with the placement of the seam! That was a problem for one card I did - it kept getting hung up with I tried to push the ends back in! I'm going to watch that carefully on the next one! Thanks for the advice!
I've made a bunch of these and have used everything from plastic store stacks to Ziploc bags. They all work just fine for me, but I did have a problem in the beginning from wrapping the darn thing too tight. Leave a little wiggle room and it should work just fine!
I haven't had a chance to get to another one since I posted this thread (was trying some other fun cards like the never-ending one), but with all the help I have received here, I can't wait! Thanks for taking the time to reply! I sincerely appreciate it!
