Default heat and stick powder and embossing questions

okay, total newbie questions here!
i just got some heat and stick powder and embossing powder.
here is what i think i should do with them, but please correct me if i am wrong
Embossing powder - stamp with verse mark, pour powder over and use heat gun
heat and stick powder - not really sure what to use one or how to use.
thanks so much for any suggestions!!

Heat and Stick--Stamp image with Versamark, put heat and stick powder on the image and tap off just like you would for EP, heat with the heat gun until the image is shiny--then sprinkle diamond dust or flocking, etc on the image while heat and stick is still hot. I had to experiment a little to know when heat and stick is melted enough and not over heated. Have fun!

If you have embossing powder and versamark you don't need heat and stick powder. Heat and stick powder is used for glitter. You stamp your image with versamark then put heat and stick then while still hot or wet you add glitter then heat again to seal it. If you use embossing powder you versamark then add embossing powder then heat.

I find it easier to describe the differences this way.

Embossing Powder - used with Versamark ink or Craft/Pigment based inks, gives you that lovely shiny look to your image. Or you use it to seal an image if you want to use water colouring/Copic markers/Tombow's to colour your image.

Heat & Stick Powder - used also with Versamark ink, but is used to keep things like glitter, flocking, micro beads, etc stuck to your card. You need to gently heat the powder until it just turns glossy, then quickly pour over your chosen material that you want stuck, then gently heat again to make it stick permanently. Once you have done this, your glitter, flocking, micro beads, etc shouldn't come off your card/project at all.

I hope we have managed to clear up your confusion for you.

Default Important Note! EP & Sticky Powder not the same!!

Ok, this is my experience and after much wasted time and materials I agree with Susie in that EP & SP are not the same.

Listen to susiemuslie68 ... use the Sticky Power (Heat and Bond, Stamp and Bond, O'So Sticky Powder, etc.) to "hold" items ... glitter, flocking, microbeads, etc. The embossing powder will NOT "hold" in the same manner. Additionally, I tried Utee but it did not work either (dries too quickly). If you are using something heavier (i.e. microbeads, vintage glass glitter, etc.) then stick strictly to the glue-based items. For instance, I found that Stamp and Bond brand was not "strong" enough to hold microbeads. Good luck.
