Faux Airebrsuh Technique for backgrounds

The Faux Airebrush technique is an easy way to make beautiful backgrounds for scenes. Have you tried to get a beautiful sunset for a stampscape scene and did not have much luck, try this technique and you'rll be a pro in just a couple of tries, really, it's pretty easy.

Thanks for reminding me of this technique. I learned it as "stippling" about 5 years ago. I have a bunch of teeny little brushes that look like barber brushes and they work well. Will get my stuff out and try again, using your excellent tute.

I'm glad the tut is helpful and it really is easy.

I'm glad to hear that Kathynruss had good luck with her little brushes. All the little brushes and other brnads of large stipple brushes I have, leave brush marks and they were hard to load enough ink because they are not as stiff as the Doves. The Doves have a lot more bristles so even though the bristles are soft the whole brush is stiff (does that make sense?)

Personally, not to be a nag, but I want to really, really want to stress the point about the Dove Airebrushes. You should not see brush marks and I just
never got the really smooth look with any other brushes that I tried.

It would be great to find a less expensive brush that really gives the same look without much effort, so please let me know the brand of brush so I can give it a try.
