Default Embossed Medallion w/Nestabilities

Hello ladies! I decided it was time I finally came out of lurkdom and posted something. I'm always finding inspiration in the SCS galleries so I might as well start contributing! So today I wanted to share my current favorite technique using an assortment of Nestabilities dies to create an embossed medallion.

Here's a card I created using this technique:

And here are a few more samples:

http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1303024
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1303023

And if you have a Cuttlebug, like moi, I've got some pics that show the sandwich matrix/stacking solution here:
http://cuttlebugchallenge.blogspot.c...oxed-gift.html

You'll need to start off with an assortment of nesting dies. For the card shown I used (starting outward/inward):

Scallop Circle
Inverted Scallop Circle
Circle

I layered them inside eachother with just a little bit of tape to hold it in place on the cardstock, used the tan embossing mat and ran it through my Cuttlebug twice for a deep emboss. I LOVE this technique and I'm going to be using it with all my Nesties!

Ok, seriously...what are you lurking from? This card (and those adorable mini ones!) are absolutely the neatest thing I've seen in a while with the nesties!! Thanks for unlurking and sharing!

Now, do you have a blog where you post your stuff regularly? I would love to watch what you create!

Awww, thanks ladies for the kind words! This just happens to be one of those techniques that packs enough punch all by itself that you don't really need to do much else as far as embellishing. And the mini cards in a gift box is a project I created for the Cuttlebug Challenge blog a couple weeks back. I've gotten to the point where everything needs to be embossed or I need to put a window in it with my Nesties!

p.s. Martha I updated my sig line to include a link to my blog. I've got a few more tutorials on my sidebar, too.

Thanks for sharing your card/box, technique, and blog. I am always looking for new and fun ways to use the nesties, I need to justify the expense, thanks for giving me another method of use.

You know I have NO Nestabilities, and am always wondering about them...think I need to wonder no more. This card has truly made me want some...

I love this....Does anyone know what the sandwich is when using a Big Shot? I tried to do what I thought was right, but the dies cut through the paper instead of embossing.

This is what I do:
platform opened to the first page
clear plate
nesties with cutting side up
paper
rubber mat
1 or 2 pieces of folded cardstock for a shim
2nd clear plate

I think you could just flip all of this and it would make it easier to see exactly where you are placing the nesties.

Default Embossed black card

I am curious about the straight lines on the rest of the card. Was this done using a Scor Pal? Great card.
