Smile Easier Criss Cross card!!!!

I figured out how to get two criss cross cards out of one piece of CS!

After you cut your 8 1/2 x 11 piece lengthwise, score one piece in half. Cut the left side from corner to corner giving you two triangles. you will eventually fold the left piece over, but for now adhere the cut out triangle on the right side of the paper along the right straight edge. Adhere along bottom, too. Now, fold your left over and adhere along the bottom.
Voila!!! Now you can get TWO Criss Cross cards out of one sheet of cardstock!
HTH!

Here's the link to this past weekend's January VSN (Virtual Stamp Night), where one of the challenges was a criss-cross card. You can find those original instructions in that thread, along with links to all of the cards that were done for the challenge:

Forums at Splitcoaststampers

Hope that helps. I also have one in my gallery from VSN.

adhere the cut out triangle on the right side of the paper HOW????
I understand the cutting part and think it 's a fantastic idea but I am not gettin' the adhere part. Do you mean to overlap the two pieces? But wouldn't that make one side shorter? HELP!!!!

since the piece on the right is not attached, you have to adhere the straight edge! KWIM? So the right hand side as well as the bottom need attached! It doesn't take up that much room-just trim your card size down a smidgen;)

Now I get it you attach it to the back of the card's front. Wow that was even confusing. I forgot that this made a pocket!!! I think I need vitamins or more sleep, I just made one for VSN and already forgot how it went together. Thanks for the great idea.

I'm not wrapping it around the back to attach it-just put your tape down the right hand edge!

Default criss cross

Just saw these today and figured out both your methods. Love this card. Saw one on the gallery that was a mini criss cross. I always need the measurements to cut cards. Too math impaired(LOL) to figure this out myself. Do you have the cutting measurements available for the minis? Thanks for the fun.

Default Small version of criss cross

Last night I figured out dimesiions to cut and make two smaller criss cross cards. One is rectangular: Cut a strip 10" X 3 1/4". Score at 5" and follow the criss cross directions for using one sheet for two cards. The other makes more square shape and smaller. Would be a nice gift enclosure. Cut a piece of cs 7" long by 3 1/4. Score at 3 1/2 and follow the one sheet, two cards directions. Hope these aren't too confusing.

I understand your instructions. But you may want to fix the links to your card. When I click on any of the links above, I too get a "NO Permission" message. And, yes, I am logged in.... shoot, I never log out! And when I visited your gallery there were *no* crisscross cards. You may have to upload them once again, or ask the moderator where they have disappeared to.
