Default Easel Card question

I just made almost 100 easel baby announcements for my son & wife. I love, love, love them! (Though lots of work). My question is? Will people know what to do with them or do I need to include a little instruction thing? To me, it seems like a no brainer, but I know everyone isn't into the card making and unique things we do. What is your opinion and any suggestions as to how to do it if you feel it is necessary. TIA-Jill

BTW-the picture is of a different baby since my little granddaughter wont be here until end of March. But the pink floral I used on the name plate was scanned from the outfit I bought for her that she will come home from the hospital it and the picture will show her wearing it so it will all match. (God help them if the doctor made a mistake and she turns out to be a 'he' baby!)

I'm afraid I didn't know what an easel card is until I saw a tutorial here on SCS. If I received one (before seeing them here) I might not have realized how to stand it up. I say, put a little verse with instructions on a detached piece of vellum or cs and include it with the cards. They are perfectly DARLING and deserve to be dispayed!

Oh, and I'm sure the baby will be darling, too! ;)

I agree with the other posters. Include a little instruction card.

This is a lovely work of art you have made, and deserves to be displayed and enjoyed.

PS What you said about hoping the doctor was right about "her", reminded me of that old Johnny Cash song, A Boy Named Sue.

I made about 20 easel cards for Christmas and the rest a standard type. My daughter came home for Christmas and saw the card standing up properly at her grandparents house and went "oh, that is what you are supposed to do with it". She is a bright kid, college educated, etc and had no clue. Sadly I think only the 2 crafters new what to do with it. The rest had no clue. If there is a way to let them know how to set it up I would do so. Lesson learned for me. (and by the way---your card is gorgeous)

Karen, Thanks a bajillion times over!!! That is perfect. I already printed them up! This is kind of what I was thinking about but had no idea how to come up with the instruction.

Also, thank you ladies for the compliments on my card. I have had a blast making them but boy are my fingers sore!

And the 'boy named Sue?' They are naming her Elliot, so, wouldn't be bad if it were a boy. Well, except for the pink! :-)

Oh how incredibly well this worked! I printed some sheets out, ran them through the 9" Xyron with repostionable tape, cut them and they are the perfect solution. Thank you so much for sharing. I made enough to include in every easel card I make from now on. OH SCS-Greatest bunch of ladies in the world of crafts!

I'm another one that didn't know what an easel card was until I started making cards.

Thanks for the instructions - I have got round it so far by taking a photo of the card set up, so that they can see how its meant to go! I have to take a photo for my blog, so its a quick thing to just print a low quality one out to slip inside the card!

That's a great idea. I've learned to "never assume" anyone is going to be able to figure out my cards. However, I've been making the twisted easel card, which looks different than the one on this little graphic. Does anyone have one for the twisted easel card, which the top part that sits up is diamond or triangle shaped?

Thank you. Thank you. I will keep this for the future. I REALLY could have used this just last week when I sent out 30 birthday invitations for my grandniece. I did include a written explanation which I hope helped.

This was great...I've been looking for something to include with craft fair cards. The previous pics were great too...great for inspiration.

What a beautiful card! I would have had no idea how to display the card since I've never received one or made one. I have seen them in the gallery.

The instructions you are including are perfect. Blessing for a healthy baby!

I always put a sticker with my name & details on the back of cards I make. Then sometimes I needed to put the 'easel' card sticker on too. I didn't like having two stickers, so here was my solution.
I downloaded the picture of the easel card instruction, then I opened it up in photo editing software, and isolated just one picture. I used a slightly larger sticker size(63mmx38mm), put the picture on the sticker, then put my name on the easel picture, and my other details around it., like this:Easel Card question-name-easel-info-label.jpg
Then I just printed off a whole sheet of Avery Labels.

I made easel cards for a swap with my stamping buddies - and THEY didn't know how to stand them up. Instructions are a must IMO

Thanks for the compliments, ladies! I had forgotten about this post until it just popped up again. I had just (5 minutes before hand) gotten a tm from that little granddaughter (well her momma wrote it but she pretended it was from Elliot) and she said, 'Can you believe tomorrow I will be 7 months old?'. Wow! Where has this time gone? But....the doctor was correct, she is a SHE! I have another one from a different dil due in a couple of weeks but she hasn't asked about making announcements. :-(
