My sister-in-law was recently at a party and said the demonstrator showed them a technique where she stamped an image, then she wound some wire around one of the ink refil bottles, placed that on top of the image and put Crystal Effects in the center. She said it looked like a Tile. Does this technique sound familar to anyone? I can't seem to get a visual of what she was describing, it sounds interesting
i've seen this done. They look really neat. you can make charms out of them, or when they're dry, you can place them on a card or whatever.
It almost looks like a flat marble that is placed over an image. I seen it in a stamping catalog, but i don't remember which one.
Shelli Gardner showed how to do this technique on DIY Network Scrapbooking Show. You can wrap the wire around a round or square item the approximate size of your stamped image. She used 22 gauge wire and just let the ends of the wire just meet. Lay the circle of wire down and pour in Crystal Effects and let it dry. Then cut out and mount on card or scrapbook page.
Thanks everyone. Am I correct that the wire needs to be the size of the stamped image, which means the image needs to be small? By putting the Crystal effects in the center, does it spread out and 'glue' the wire to the image?
Creative Diva if you could post an example, that would be great. I'm a visual person.
Yes, the wire 'frames' the image, and the CE glues the wire in place and highlights the image underneath it. It is a striking effect.
At a stamp camp I went to, we did a variation of this. We put coiled wire on top of small stamped ornaments adding a 'hanger' at the top with the end of the wire. Make sense? I gave the card away, or I would post a pic. Sorry.

I'm wondering...would it be possible to do this on something like waxed paper, so it could be peeled of after it was dry? Maybe it would come out something like the "page pebbles" I always admire in the store! Has anybody tried this?
I saw this technique done this last summer but haven't tried it yet. I couldn't quite remember how to do it. Now that I have been refreshed(?) I think I will try it tonight.
