Default envelopes

Anyone have a site to get good envelopes for a good price. I usually pick mine up at Walmart (the invitation size) but I need a lot and I know there has to be a cheaper way. I need white and vanilla (or off-white).

Thanks

I bought a box of 100 invitation envelopes at Office Depot for $7.69. They come in white and in vanilla. I don't know if that's cheaper than Walmart.

I have also added a gift card holder to this mix. I am making 10 and selling them at 50 cents each.

Try a local printing company-- I think I paid 27.00 for 500. I do have to buy in quantities of 250. Not as nice as the SU ones, but I rip and toss, and figure most others do, too. Now if I am making bagalopes I buy SU envies, they really hold the ink well.

I buy wood fairies at Michael's. I also buy wood Frogs for the boys. There is a picture of one in my gallery. It is nice to see you Cheri!

Default Displaying the cards at craft fairs

I forgot to mention this yesterday, but the ladies at last weeks craft fair had their cards in nice baskets, they did not have them stuffend in there so it was easy to go flip through them. It is easy packing up also. I like the idea of having a turning display, but that would be something to think about if you are doing a lot of craft fairs. Over here they have one every month so it would be worth the investment.

Thought I'd share with you ladies.

Here's a link to the revolving displays. With shipping i think it was like $75! Jeez, this show is costing me alot of money, between the displays, the coasters, tiles, alcohol inks, journals, and more i sure hope that i make some money! lol

i forgot on my last post....has anyone seen a poem about snowman poop? I saw it once, really cute, but can't find the poem anywhere. I put it in my kids stockings one year and the little one cried! lol by the way, snow man poop is mini marshmellows.
At the craft fair I am going to have baskets with may arts ribbon bundles....hopefully i'll get rid of some of it....
another thing, i saw that someone posted something about making up crayon christmas kits. does anyone know what these are and what goes in them?

Lorrain,
the crayon sets are nothing but a few pages of CS stamped with kid friendly images and stapeledtogether as coloring books and a few crayong tucked in a cello bag with topper. I bought some last year at a craft fair and this lady had made small cards stamped with kid friendly images envies included and some crayons. My than 5 year old DD loved it so much she wanted me to get more. There are quite a few examples here on SCS too. I think they are in the gift ideas section if I am not mistaken. But I am sure if you put in into search they will come up with something.

Hope this helps
Sabrina

I was wondering...when you say you take orders for things at craft sales...do you have them pay you at the time they place the order, or when you deliver? Thanks!

A friend of mine who used to do the craft fairs here, took the orders and just trusted the people to be honest enough to pay for them upon delivery. I have another friend that does homemade candles and she now wants people to pay in advance because some of the people that ordered really big candles/a lot of them changed their mind.

I guess that would be totally up to you. For me I always take orders for the service I provide and have my customers pay when they either pick their order up or I deliver. It has worked for me so far.

When I take orders, I ask for half of what the total will be. I don't do that for family or friends, but only when I take orders at shows and only if it is for an item that is over $20. I paint children's furniture and once I painted a personalized rocker for someone and she called me two days before I was supposed to deliver it and changed her mind without even seeing it. Luckily, the little girl's name was Emily and I was able to sell it anyways.

Default Great ideas

I love everyone's ideas....Here's a cute one I found online.

Ear Plugs

When there is a new baby in the house, ear plugs are always welcome. Give pacifiers as earplugs with these poems! Or give with Candy Pacifiers...Use frosting to "glue" a jelly bean into the center of a lifesaver. "Glue" another lifesaver perpendicular to the first one for the handle.

*

For a more life-sized version use gummy rings in place of lifesavers and regular size jelly beans.
*

Melt white candy melts in a baggie. Cut a corner off. Lay gummy rings out on wax paper and fill one gummy ring with enough melted white chocolate to hold a second gummy ring standing on end.
*

When hardened, "glue" the jelly bean "nipple" to the pacifier with more white chocolate.
*

Speed the process by putting in freezer for a minute to set up.

Make these cards for the sets you make :

1) For Daddy....

New Daddy
Ear Plugs

These aren't for your baby...
They're New Daddy Ear Plugs.
When baby's tired and fussy,
plop them in and give hugs!

2) Mommy Earplugs

When baby gets fussy
and needs Mommy's hugs,
these are just for you...
a new set of ear plugs!

3.) Earplugs (for grandma or anyone else)

Baby
Earplugs

When baby gets fussy
and needs your hugs,
these are just for you...
a new set of ear plugs !

4) For siblings... Candy Earplugs!

Sibling
Earplugs

When baby gets fussy
and you give out hugs,
you'll earn this reward...
your own set of earplugs.

Basically you just have to have the SU copyright on the back of everything you make. There are stamps in the catalog that you can buy that have your name and the copyright on them. If you don't want to actually stamp on the item that you have made you can make a tag to go on the item and stamp that with the angel policy stamp.

Hope that helps!
