Would love the poem for the tooth fairy tin. These are great suggestions and a big help for anyone considering doing a craft fair.

Finally had a chance to read all of this. I've been working on dominos this week, which you probably know because I've been posting about it everywhere, LOL. I put photos of domino necklaces and ornaments on my blog and showed to some (non-stamping) friends, and one person said I should be selling the necklaces for $12! I just don't see how that's possible - I'm thinking $2. Everyone here seems to say that cheap items sell well at fairs. I haven't seen too many people posting in this thread about dominos, though. Anyone sell them? I'm going to do magnets, necklaces, and ornaments.

I am getting ready for my first craft fair next weekend, thank you everyone for you great tips and ideas.

My question: where do you find black table clothes? I have looked at Wal Mart and Target but haven't found anything!

You probably won't be able to find a block tablecloth, just buy some black fabric - they usually have some that is inexpensive at Jo-Ann's and also Walmart - if you have one near you that still sells fabric. The other thing that's nice about fabric is that you can whatever size your table is.

I made sets of four magnets last year and sold them at craft fairs, actually, TRIED to sell them. They were cute, similar to yours, and were a big flop for me.I'd love to know how they do for you. I love to mak ethem, so I am going to try again with them this year (Yeah, some people never learn!)

Also, I just ordered the All in the Family set to make family name frames and ornaments out of.

I just bought a flat sheet from Wal-Mart. It was under $5 and worked very well. For anyone else reading this, I have a hint for you. If you need a black sheet or black fabric for a craft fair AFTER Halloween, I suggest you buy it now. It's almost impossible to find (esp. the sheets) after Halloween.

*Tile Coasters (selling in sets of 4)
*tile magnets (I have heard these sell really well)
*post it and calendar acrylic frames (had a hard time finding the frames cheap but finally did at one of those DEALS stores)
*Snowman soup (I haven't had good luck with these in the mug so I am going to try them just packaged)
*chipboard ornaments
*glass ball ornaments
*mini holiday themed scrapbooks
*cards
*checkbook covers
*memo notecubes
*toothfairy tins
*RSVP pens
*name frames

I think that is about it I might have forgotten a couple of things!

What are you planning on charging for the toothfairy tins??

I have sold the toothfairy tins at last years fairs and I believe I sold them for $3.00 or maybe $3.50 and I sold about 6. So I am going to try that again.

I am going to try to sell the 2 x 2 magnets for $2.50. But I have never done them before...anyone else have any input on this?

I did two fairs last year. I sold my cards for $3 a piece, and Christmas cards, 4 for $10. I also had the papermache boxes I painted and sold at $3, $4 and $5. The first fair I made $18 over the price of the table, the second one, I made $38 over the price of the table. I sold several cards, and the boxes went well.

This year I plan on charging more for the cards (they are much better) $3.50, and group cards in packages of 10 @ maybe $25.00. The packages will be 3 birthday, 3 blank, 1 sympathy, 1 get well, 1 thank you, 1 love/weddingish card. Hopefully I will do well on these sets. I will still try to sell my Christmas cards too, that is if I ever get around to making any.

Hope this helps. Have a great day.

For anyone who sells cards "ala carte"...do you sell with envelopes? Have you ever found that the cards tend to get damaged by people "flipping through them"? In that case, have you ever "packaged" them in cello bags individually?
What do you all charge? Does it depend on the card design/accessories used?

thanks for sharing all the ideas.

If I were going to sell a more expensive selection. What would you recommend. Cuz the stuff I have now, is more of the lower end pricing. Also, they are having a silent auction that we can donate to. What should I include in that??? Let me know what everyone thinks.

I would suggest cello sleeves. I just attended a craft fair on Saturday and two ladies that sell mostly cards have them in sleeves and people go through them all day long and they look good and not no greasy finger prints or smudges on them. Those ladies sold their cards for $ 2.50 but they were not super embellished. Some of them had several layers and such but nothing to fancy. They have discounts too. Buy 5 for $ 10.00

Hope this helps.

I sell my cards individually. I find that people would rather pick them out themselves then to have them packaged already. I was selling them for $2.00 each or 6 for $10 but I think I am going to raise them to $2.50 each or 5 for $10. I package all of mine in cello bags with an envelope. I have them in a large basket that I made dividers for. People are constently going through them, so I would recommend that you put them in something!

Has anyone sold 3x3 cards before? I was thinking of selling them $.75 each or 5 for $3. Perfect to go with Birthday gifts and such.
Also anyone know where I can get envelopes for the 3x3 size cards?

I haven't used this company--but I know many scs'ers have.
http://www.clearbags.com/

I keep mine out (cards)--no problems, but the craft fairs I do are small ones in churches.

I actually found black tablecloths at walmart last year around halloween - did you look in their holiday department??

Also, I have used black (or whatever color) fitted sheets for tablecloths - they are great for the long banquet tables.

I get mine from Stampin' Up! They are $7.50 for 40, so less than 20 cents apiece. I haven't found them anywhere else.

I usually use generic ziplock bags to put my cards and post it's in,with the cost and angle stamp on. Sell most of my cards individually cost fluctuates but $1.00-$3.50,my sales are retirement age people. Post it's and beaded pens are hot am trying Christmas fudge and snow man soup this year too

Here is my Tooth Fairy Box poem:

In this box I will lay
the little tooth I lost today.
Please dear Tooth Fairy,
tonight as I sleep
leave me a coin.
My tooth you can keep.

I put it inside in the bottom or the cover. Sorry it took me so long to post it.

I have sold 3x3 cards. I punch a hole in the corner with a ribbon so they can be tied to a gift bag. I sell them for $.75 and they always go fast. I sometimes have coordinating gift bags too. I sell the set for $2.

I just saw them at eBay 100 bags for $7.00. The seller is hipck00. The $ 7.00 is the Buy it now price. They also have auctions that start at $ 3.00 or so.

I'm getting ready to do a craft fair at my kids high school. so far i have made 34 sets of tile coasters, holiday and non holiday. I am working on journals, and i just ordered 1000 coasters (that was the min order) they are the plain coasters, you know the ones that are in bars? lol anyway i saw the cutest book being made with them so I had to order the coasters. now i need to find out how to make this little book!
I am packaging my cards in a cello envie with an envie. I also purchased a card stand that turns. but I was going to sell my cards for $4 each, 5 for $20...i usually put alot of embellishments on a card with details. I'm in the NY area so I don't think i'm pricing too high, but you never know until the day comes and goes.
OK, what is a cuppacino pack? thanks, and still looking for ideas! Lorraine

Question More Info

So you mean CHIPBOARD coasters, as opposed to tile coasters. Are you just altering them (covering them with designer paper and/or stamped CS, maybe sanding the edges and also adding embellishments?) Do you put anything over them like ModPodge?

Question Tooth Fairy Boxes??

That's a darling tooth fairy poem, Tracy, and a great idea, but what do you stamp/put on the boxes (sold my Fairy Princess set, darn it!)? Anybody who makes them--can you give me some ideas of how you embellish the boxes? Thanks! Oh, and I've ordered from the Clear bags website someone mentioned and never had a problem. They still have the colored cellophane envelopes, too.

Thanks for that Idea. I think I will do the punch with cord on them. If I buy envelopes, I would have to raise the price to $1 each, so I think I will keep it simple. THanks for the ideas.

They still have the colored cellophane envelopes, too.
I make mine with the fairy set. I also saw on here to make them with a frog and a crown...cute idea for boys! If you would like I can stamp my fairy on cardstock and send it to you. Just let me know how many you want!
