We can make our crafts and sell them. We do need to stamp an angel policy stamp on them. And just this year they are also allowing us to sell our crafts and promote our buisness at the same time. (I talked to demo support because I had heard so many diffrent opinions on the subject).
Maybe your thinking of the cash and carry rule. We can't stock stampin up products and then sell them. They have to actually be ordered from a customer. That was probably as clear as mud.

My Turkey Poop looked very similar to this:
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...=turkey%20poop
I searched the internet to find a shorter poem.
I also used the Quickutz Turkey.
My cards did not use SU stamps for those that had inquired. I am not an SU demo but i know about thier angel policy.

"Stamped from the Heart" set is an angel policy set, well, at least three of them are. The stamps need to say Stampin' Up! on them.
I am in Canada, I don't know if the catties are the same or not (page number or item number).

I had my first craft fair ever this morning. It was a learning experience. Next year I would do some things differently. I was not able to put a card display like I wanted to and as I suspected, people do not like to dig through boxes for cards no matter how organized they are. I did sell some jars of homemade cappaccino which paid for the table and sold 2 mini-notebooks and a card. I still have another show tomorrow and will post a listing of what sold in both shows within a few days. I wanted to do a french bulletin board displaying certain cards but was not able to do this year. I also found that people are put off by packaging. They like to feel the paper etc. Other people noticed it wasn't a good year because the fair was the week before pension checks came out.

I went to a craft fair and there was a Creative Memories person selling name frames for $39.99! I thought that was a bit much. Does anyone offer these and how much do you charge??? TIA!

I had a craft fair Saturday and sold 1 card @ 2.50. 2 jars of Homemade cappucino @8.00, and 1 mini notebook @ $4. At my craft fair on Sunday I sold 8 individual envelopes of cappucino @ $1 and 3 teabag matchbooks with quote@ $1. Only 1 person in the Saturday fair looked at the cards and less than five looked yesterday. No one looked at the stationary sets Saturday but a couple of people did yesterday. That's it.

I did a craft fair saturday and sold these. I wasn't sure what to make so I made just a bunch of "welcome" ones and "colts" since it's football season. I sold the welcome ones for $15 and the colts for $10 - I had frames from the dollar tree.

Taryn,
Hang in there. A few years ago I signed up to do three or four craft shows. I was disappointed with my sales. I have since learned that every show is different and things like pension checks can make a difference. I bet your items were lovely. Cappucino is a great idea! Don't give up; these can be fun when you find the right sale.

Hey Taryn,

I did a show this past weekend and sold only one $2 item. It was a total disaster. There were only 11 vendors there and I think it was only myself and another girl that sold anything. It's funny how shows are so quirky. It's an unpredictable animal that's for sure.

My friends and I just hosted a boutique at my home. They sold handmade soaps, jewelry, scarves, here’s what I sold:

Dishwasher “clean/dirty” things $2 sold 2 of 5
4x6 magnetic calendars $3 sold 4 of 4, took orders for 6 more
Fill-in the blank flat thank-you’s $2.50, didn’t sell any boy sets, sold 2 of 2 girl sets, took orders for 5 more
Calendar bookmarks $1, sold 6 of 6
4x6 table top acrylic note pad holders w/ matching beaded pen $5, sold 1 of 2
3x5 table top acrylic note pad holders w/ matching beaded pen $3.50 sold 2 of 2
Winter Survival Kits $2 sold 6 of 6
Big Fudge $1.50 sold 6 of 6
Little Fudge $.75 sold 6 of 6
Box of 5 cards (organizer type from Target last year) $13 sold 2 of 3
Candles $1.50 - $3.50 sold 8 of 13

My sister told me after the fact that I way under-priced things! I struggled with pricing. When making cards I typically stick to the 3x cost rule but didn’t know how to account for the cost of frames and such. So what I ended up doing was multiplying the cost of my craft materials by 3 and then adding the price of the envelope, frame, pen, candle, or whatever. Did I gip myself?

How do you all do it?

Small show today (as expected). Sold out of "Christmas fudge" (5 small @ $1 and 5 large @ $2). Sold a just a couple of PearlEx'd ornaments ($2) plus simple cocoa packets and 2 piece nugget boxes (2/$1). Sold 11 cards @ $2; 2 or 3 journals w/pen @ $2; and cat playing cards (from dollar store) w/4 small Cool Cat note cards (3 @ $3).

Did not sell a single candle. Have plenty of ornaments left, too. I do have an open house coming up on the 16th and my office mates and DH's will be getting the "leftovers" for Christmas!

Posted this on another thread but I'll post here too. I was in my son's school faire this past Saturday.

Here are my results:
1. marble magnets, sold in sets of 4: $3 made 12 sets/ sold out
2. calendar bookmarks: $1, marked down to $0.50 made 30, sold 11 after marking down
3. tooth fairy tins: $2 made 15/ sold out (everyone loved these, they were very popular amongst this particular crowd)
4. small square tile magnets: $2.50 made 36/ sold 14
5. set of 12 gift tags in pouch: $3 made 20/ sold 6
6. memo cubes: $4 made 15/ sold 6
7. mini notebook with pen: $3.50 marked down to $2 made 27/ sold 6
8. post it note holders: $4 made 12/ sold 5
9. color me card kits w/pack of 24 crayons: $5 made 13/ sold NONE (I was really surprised with this one, since I thought this crowd would go for this one)
10. large comp notebooks/journals: $7 made 14/ sold 3 (thought these would move better too; maybe price was too high)
11. painted frames: $10 made 2/ sold 2 (sold to another vendor before I even finished setting up my table, lol)
12. tile coasters, set of 4: $12 made 7 sets/ sold 3 sets
13. lunch tins, 1 recipe tin, 1 new mommy kit, 1 spa kit: $12-25 made 3 tins/ sold out (the recipe tin was less since it only had some dividers in them; the other tins were filled with gift items appropriate to the theme)
14. paint cans filled with themed goodies: $25 made 4/ sold NONE! (lots of interest in these, but no takers. Probably the price was too steep.

My total sales were about $325 for 7 hrs (including set up/break down time), and I paid $30 for the table. All in all, I'd say it was a successful day, but in the overall scheme of things, craft fairs don't seem to be worth the effort that goes into them. However, I did this primarily for the fundraising aspect. I would agree with another poster that if you are to make a go of this, you need to do multiple fairs in a season.

I have some pics posted in my gallery of my table set up and the things I made. Hope this helps someone! Good luck to you on your upcoming fairs!

Kris, of the two I did, one was at DH's work (a HS) and the other was at my mine (college). The one at my work was way smaller, but I sold more than at the other one. My friend, however, had the opposite experience with her sales. Craft shows are such a crap shoot. We talked about this yesterday and realized that we do them simply because we love to make "stuff" throughout the year and wind up with an excess that we want to sell off!

Default my first craft sale

Hi, our local church just had a craft sale with pretty good attendance, this was my first so I had no expectations of what I was going to sell.
Here is what I had:
1. Tile coasters took 9 sold 5 ( holiday themed) for $3.00
2. Hoilday Shopping Survivor Kit took 36 sold 7@ $1.00
3. I also took some pottery and speciality sewing. Sold an egg plate@ 25.00
4. Quilted northwoods lap quilt for $100.00
5. Holiday themed kitchen towels took 18 sold 11@$4.00
5. Mini albums took 2 sold none $2.00
6. Cards holiday boxed in 6 @10.00 took 4 boxes sold 3
7. Cards other occasions took 4 sold 2 @ 10.00

My friend who also shared the table had jewerly, and pottery ornmanments sold about $130.00 and I sold about $300.00

All in all it was a 6 hour show with about and hour to set up and take down, hard work indeed, but kinda fun.

I LOOOOVVVVEEEE what everyone is doing here!

My son drew the most adorable picture last night. I would love to transfer it to a tile -- does anyone know how I can do this?

Modge Podge sounds good! If you need to shrink it, you could probably scan it and print it on tissue paper and modge podge that on to your tile.

A friend of mine sold beaded paper crane mobiles for 25$, she did have a piece of fused glass at the end though. But you could stamp the origami paper to make it fancier!

I've seen them in the Oriental Trading Company catalog in sets of 3 for $4.95.

I know this is an older thread...anyone gearing up to do a craft show/ azaar this year? My church host one for $20, and I am trying to decide if I should go that route or if I should take some pictures to show people at work. (The only catch is that I'm a supervisor and I feel bad about asking my employees to buy stuff off me...kwim?)
This is what I was thinking:
Altered comp books + memo pads + beaded pen + jumbo clip = $16
(or should I go separate? They are so cute matching...)
Husband card packs,
blank note cards
Thank yous
birthday cards
I love the snowman poop, candy cane seeds, and the pms kits
Also, misc. cards, mix and match for $10 (or whatever)
I live in a small area, and I know when I go to craft shows, I look for inexpensive items. But, it is easier to shell out some cash if its a gift for someone else, right?
Be honest if you think $16 is too much or too little for the sets. I thought as a matching set, people might be willing. Also, if I sold them to my ladies at work, I could personalize them with a monogram.
Thanks for all the great ideas and feedback!!
God bless.

I love the idea of matching sets. I think you could sell them for $16 if you are at the right sale. You can always start with $16 and mark them down if you are getting a lot of lookers, but no takers. I leave a book of pictures out at work in the lounge. That way there isn't any pressure for your employees to buy things from you. You'll be surprised how many orders you get. Good Luck! What is a husband pack? Did I miss that?

I make Tooth Fairy Boxes out of altoid tins. I collect them from people all year at work. I cover them with papers and decorate the tops. I include a cute poem on the inside. I have to find it, and then I will post it for you. Here is a picture of one I made for my son.

I love this thread and check it often!! I am doing a two shows in November this year. I just thought I would share some of the things with you that I am making and then I will update it after the show. I am always looking for new ideas of things to make so maybe this will help some of you too!

*Tile Coasters (selling in sets of 4)
*tile magnets (I have heard these sell really well)
*post it and calendar acrylic frames (had a hard time finding the frames cheap but finally did at one of those DEALS stores)
*Snowman soup (I haven't had good luck with these in the mug so I am going to try them just packaged)
*chipboard ornaments
*glass ball ornaments
*mini holiday themed scrapbooks
*cards
*checkbook covers
*memo notecubes
*toothfairy tins
*RSVP pens
*name frames

I think that is about it I might have forgotten a couple of things!
