Couple questions? 1. What is CTMH? 2. Are your cards and notecards blank inside or do you stamp verses and sayings and stamp on the inside of the cards? Thanks Sandy
Ok, so I had my show today. It was a show for the employees at my DH's job. I did much better than I thought I would. I think I could've raised my prices, but there were 58 vendors, and I was afraid I wouldn't sell things and end up with a lot of inventory left over. Here's what I sold:
small tins (Target) with a notebook and pen for little girls - $6 - sold 8
large lunch tins with notebook, pen, and 2 cards for "big" girls - $12 - sold 2
coasters - set of 4 - $10 - sold 8 ( I sold out of these)
covered address books from Dollar store - $4 - sold 3
covered magnetic mini clipboards with notebook and pen - $4 - sold 2
covered composition books with pen - $4 - sold 3
medium sized spiral notebooks with pen - $3 - sold 2
notepads with pen $2 - sold 8
mini composition books with pen - the tiny ones that come in a 4 pack at dollar store - $2 - sold 20
gift tags - 7 for $1 - sold 4 sets
reindeer food - .50 - sold 1 - anybody want some?
RSVP pens - .75 - sold 5
I am surprised with what sells and what doesn't. The table next to me had awesome, awesome, cards, and post it holders, and notebooks, along with a ton of other stamped items. The other side had theme baskets, and I don't think they sold even 5. The table across from me had cards, and I didn't see them sell any, but I don't know how much they were asking. I guess it really depends on the crowd. Luckily for me, there were a lot of little girls and mothers of little girls at this show. As the craft show season gets into swing, I can't wait to hear how everyone else does. Good luck!

I did my first craft fair today and sold $150.00 worth of products. It was a small craft fair so I didn't think that was to bad.
Here where my best sellers
snowman soup $3.00 or 4 for $10.00
snowman/reindeer/elf poop $1.00 each or 3 for $2.50
I also had microscope slide christmas ornaments $3.00 each sold 5
candles $3.00 each or 2 for $5.00 sold 2
decorated frames $10.00 each sold 2
mini composition books $3.00 each sold 2
coasters set of 4 for $15.00 sold 0
lightbulb snowman ornaments $5.00 each sold 4
glass acetate ornaments $5.00 each sold 0
magnets $1.50 each sold 8
I was surprised as to what sold and what didn't but hey that's the way it goes.
Last weekend I did a craft fair at a local high school. It was very organized and nicely put together, however, the foot traffic was not all that great. The shoppers that were there weren't buying much. All of the vendors I spoke to were very disappointed. One lady only sold $3 worth of stuff. I felt so bad for her. I will not participate in this fair again.
Here's what I sold:
Altered Composition Books (started at $7, then marked down to $5) sold 6
Mini Composition Book $3 ea, sold 1
Ghirardelli Chocolate Holders $3 ea, sold 8
PMS Survival kits $2 ea, sold 4
Soft Accordian Scrapbooks (from Simply Scrappin Kits) $12 each, sold 4
Clear Glass Ornament w/ acetate $3, sold 1
Message Board Tile w/easel $10, sold 1
Magnetic Bookmarks .75, sold 4
Shoppers Instant High Energy Breakfast $2, sold 1
Things that did not sell AT ALL: cards, altered lunch tins, stamped note cubes w/ matching pens
I cannot believe that I didn't sell a SINGLE card! That is highly unusual for me. I even had a spinning rack card display this year. Last year I sold out of stamped memo cubes with the matching beaded pens. I sold NONE at this craft fair.
My next craft fair is next weekend and I did pretty well last year, so I am hoping that I have the same success. For the upcoming craft fair, I plan on having tile magnets, tile recipe holders, and snowman poop available for sale. (ran out of time for the last show)
I had a vendor fair last week and another today. I sold 44 nugget boxes at $4 a piece. I had one as a sample and took orders. I also sold 30 monogram cards. I had a few catalog orders as well. I was excited! $350 for 2 fairs.

Lisa,
That is AWESOME!!! I am thinking of making some of these for my upcoming craft fair. Out of curiousity, how many nuggets did your boxes hold?
Thanks,
Brenda

How did you decorate them? Christmas theme? Just one more question what word did you put inside? Thanks.
I am so glad that people are doing so good at their craft shows but I must say that it is very disappointing for me!!!My last show which was supposed to be my best show ---was horrible!!!Did not even make my table money back!!!I am very discouraged---I have so much money invested and I don't want to quit but I can't keep throwing my money away also!!!
Oh well--keep on trucking as they say huh?
Tanks for listening

I had two different sizes. One box held 10 - Thank You. The other held 12 - Let It Snow. I also offered other sizes. I had an order for 30 boxes with Merry Christmas. I bought my nuggets at Sams and we figured the nuggets are about 5 cents a piece, so I sold the boxes for $4, all sizes. I'm sure I could have gotten more for the Merry Christmas boxes, but I figure $120 for two bags of candy...that's pretty good.

My favorite box that I made used Little Pieces in four different colors with thank you on the inside. It was a hit! Everyone loved it. The other set was Let it snow with the snowflakes all over the box. I'll attach the picture of it. I sold my Thank You box, but I have an extra piece of the paper that I can send a photo of. I used mailing labels to cover the nuggets. I also stamped the labels after I printed the words on them. Glad I could help!
I did a craft fair last weekend - the attendence was very low due to awful weather here. There were maybe 50 people through, but I still made over $100. The table was free, so I didn't have to worry about covering that. Here's what sold:
Tiles $4 or 3/$10 - sold 6
Card purses with 8 cards inside from scrapbooking kit $10 - sold all 3 I made (wish I had made more and charged more!)
Dry erase tiles $10 - sold 3
Husband survival packs - 4 cards (very simple ones!) for $5 - sold 3
Book Buddies $4 - sold 2
Recipe cards and tile holder $5 - sold 1
Single cards $2 or 3/5$ - sold 3
Trying to get everything priced for a Craft Sale tomorrow. I made up the little purse with 4 - 3x3 cards w/envelopes. Can anyone share what they think I should price them at?

Thanks for your help!!
I'm not too good at pricing - people tell me I never charge enough! However, I would probably charge $5-$7.

Do you happen to have a link to one of these in the gallery?
Thanks for the suggestions, think I'll start with $5. I don't have photos yet. Will make sure to take one of everything before we leave this morning and hopefully get them uploaded before the end of the weekend.
Thanks again!

Oh yeah, I had a total stranger order the new table top cutter from me and I am expecting another order before Thanksgiving from another local lady who loved my stuff. Plus I got a few interested in classes and such that put their names on my mailing list. So, needless to say, I am VERY happy with how it turned out.

I also unloaded 12 SAB sets from this year at $5 each. Knew there was no way that I was going to make much trying to Ebay them and this was much easier.

They are a large cello bag with a packet of chicken noodle soup (Lipton Cup-A-Soup), a pocket pack of kleenex and 6 cough drops. I stamped the topper using the Under the Weather set. Everyone talked about how neat they were, what a great idea for nurses, teachers, co-workers, etc. but not many actually bought them, I even dropped the price to $2 the last hour or so and only got 1 more taker. I thought they were adorable...just don't know what I'll do with the ones I have left!

There are pictures of the post-it holders in my gallery. It is one of those cheap, acrylic picture frames. Instead of a picture you cut your cardstock/paper to whatever the size is (I use 4x6 or 6x4 usually), decorate one side (leaving room for the post-it pad), and slide it in the frame (frame is upside down and laying on its back). Then embellish with ribbons or whatever and attach the post it pad with sticky strip. I include a matching pen (RSVP pen with rolled up designer paper put inside). I will see if I can find a tutorial or template for the nugget treats.

So today I attended my first craft fair. I paid $25 for the space and had to bring my own table. 8-3, about 10 vendors...almost all home party people, at a church. Decent traffic before lunch...considering I don't know what traffic is...Lots of lookers, not too many buyers...at least for me.
What I took with me:
4 for $10 Coaster sets: On angels Wings, Natures secret (french script),
In full bloom (french script) SOLD ONLY ANGEL SET
$8 Altered Composition notebook/pen...took 2, none sold
$15 Altered lunch box tin...took 3 sold 1
$.75 magnetic bookmarks...sold none
Cards: $2 or 6 for $10 sold 6
$5 Altered clipboards w/ pen...sold none
$12 OSW tote/purse with 5 cards/envies...took 3 sold three--Picture attached....saw these and had to make them, glad I did!! So easy!
$5 wood frame stamped, took 3 sold 1 (ironicly it was a baby theme, and the lady who purchased it actually owned the two stamp sets I used on it!!)
$1 lunchbags decoed, took 5 sold 0
I might get a new customer or two out of it. I did actually sell "graceful words" to a lady. I had a few word stamp sets so people could personalize a few things if they wanted...had black stazon with me, and she asked me if I knew anyone who had that set....and I had it with me...and she is a pastors wife...I couldn't deny her that set, even though I loved loved loved it....but since her niece no longer is a demo, she was interested in me!!! good deal.
I made my money back and paid for all the supplies that I bought for it and still had a profit of 20$, but might have a few leads and definately learned a bunch about craft fair. I would love to see any ladies who are seasoned craft fair goes to post a picture of their physical set up. I know I need more room, and am going to try a few more options of things to sell, but will continue with what I have or give some as gifts. I am going to look into doing more craft fairs later on...next fall possibly, but I will prepare much more in advance and try some new things.
Yesterday I did a craft fair. Unfortunately, I did not take an inventory of how much I brought so I can't tell you exactly how much I sold. This particular craft fair is quite different from all the other ones because you don't collect any money. You have to put special tags with your vendor number on it and your price. Then there is a central checkout where the customers pay for their items. I
n two weeks, I will receive a check for the amount I sold (minus a 10% for the church) and all the tags from the sold projects. So when I get the tags back, I will be able to post specifics for you guys to see. I sold about $300 last year and I am estimating about $400 this year. Last year, I had no competition. However, this year there were 2 other stampers there. Fortunately, we had totally different styles and different products.
Here is my estimation of some things I sold:
Snowman pins made from bottlecaps: sold all 12 @ $1.50 each
Memo cube with matching beaded pen: only sold 1! (these were my best sellers last year!)
Altered Lunch Tins: sold 2 for $20 each
Mini Lunch Tin with cards: sold 1 for $5
Snowman Soup: only sold a few @ $1.50 each. (sold out last year!)
Ghirardellli Chocolate Holders: sold at least 25 @ $3 each
Simple Greeting Cards: approx 25 @ $2 each or3 for $5
Accordian Scrapbooks: sold 10 @ either $12 each or 2 for $20
Altered Composition Books Lg.: sold at least 3 @ $5 ea
Tiny Composition Books with Matching pens: sold 3 @ $5
Beaded Pens: probably sold 8 @ $1.50 each
Magnets: sold 2 @ $2 each (they didn't quite come out the way I wanted, were ugly)
PMS Relief: sold about 10 @ $1 each
Toothfairy Tin: sold 1 @ $4
Candles: sold 0 (leftovers from last year, couldn't give them away!)
Wipe off Memo Board Tiles: Sold 2 @ $8 each
Magnetic Bookmarks: sold 10 @ .75 each
Accordian Tag Book: sold 1 @ $12
Jellybean Instant Breakfast: maybe only sold one or two at $1.50
Oh I forgot to add that I think I made a few new contacts. I had a hard time getting anyone to sign my sign-up sheet. I didn't offer an incentive, but maybe next year I will give them a nugget box or something. However, the few people that did sign up seemed interested. A mother and her daughter may come to my Christmas SAS in a few weeks. I also met an English teacher who is interested in doing a special order of 19 altered composition books for her student to do their journaling in!
Check out the attachment for the photo of pms relief.
It has this poem on it:
Emergency PMS Relief
A fact for sure, each M&M is a different cure--- A taste of green if you’re feeling grouchy and mean Brown for the times when you’re feeling down Red to cure the ache in your head A dose of yellow to help you feel mellow Eat blue in case you’re agitated, too If your life is a drag, just eat the whole bag! Should weight gain be a warning? Forget it! Your diet starts Monday morning!
Thanks to all the posters!! Callie, your post in note holders are beautiful! I have a small, small luncheon fair to set up for on the 28th and I am going to try and make some of these yet. I hate to make too many things and then lug them all home...or worse, spend hours preparing and selling nothing. I like the idea of making a sample of the nugget boxes and taking orders (wonderful work lisakelley02!). That's what I do with my coasters. Last year I got 8 orders and that's what saved last year's craft fair. I swore never again but now I am going to try this again!! eeck!!
I am so loving this thread!!
I asked my "Curves" 9it's a ladies only gym if youv'e never heard of it) owner if i could put out a few things to sell in the gym, she said sure, so 4 days ago i put out 9 Turkey Poop baggies, and 4 Thanksgiving cards, and today when i went in to work out there were 0 turkey poop left and only 1 card left! i was so excited! I sold the turkey poop for a dollar a bag and $2 each for the cards.
I will make a variety of 'poop' bags for Christmas and see how they do!!!
for you SU demos out there:
new demo here, i thought we couldn't make and sell? i was invited to a local bazar but turned it down... would love some info!
